I am pleased to say our auction year got off to a great start as our January sale achieved better than expected results with the majority of lots selling, some at relatively high prices. The auction room was full to capacity with several hundred attendees and bidding for most of the lots was very competitive resulting in a number of interesting results. St Andrews Church in Haslington was sold for £278,000 on a guide of £185,000 plus; 38 acres of land in Barlaston was sold for £152,000; a structurally damaged semi detached house in Stafford sold for £67,000 on a guide of £40,000 plus, another detached house in Stafford in need of improvement sold for £190,000 and a detached bungalow in Hilderstone Road, Meir Heath sold for £240,000. Again we had a 100% success rate with the properties in the Telford area. With the extra two sales included in this year’s programme (making 10 in total) means we have an auction virtually every month which has resulted in smaller more manageable sales of around 50 lots. Also vendors do not have to wait so long to enter a property into the next available sale. This month’s sale sees another 62 lots on offer including several building plots one in Sandbach, Cheshire, three in Madeley, Cheshire, one in Burslem, Stoke on Trent and one in the village of Tittensor. Also in Packmoor is a plot of land with development potential. . A number of residential investment properties are included within Stoke on Trent as well as vacant properties in Staffordshire, Cheshire and Shropshire. We are again offering several properties in the Telford area. Also in Shropshire we have a ground floor apartment in Shrewsbury.
