The event is set to take place on Thursday and Friday, August 30 and 31, and Saturday, September 1, starting at 7pm each evening. 'The King of Fools' is said by organisers to be the most exciting event to hit the town since the Civil War! The event will begin with throngs of revellers making their way through the streets of Shrewsbury in a carnival procession. Performers will then tell their version of the ancient story, The King of Fools, i n a show of dance and music within the grounds of Shrewsbury Castle. A free adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame is also to be included along with a mystery play for the new Millennium. The event, which will include special effects and fireworks, is presented i n partnership-with the Music Hall and ShYAN. Tickets cost £6 for adults and £2 for children. DASh development worker, Mike Layward said: "We will be running fleets of taxis and buses from all over Shropshire on all three nights of the show."
