Evalua&on of FMP
Introduc&on • At first, I wanted to start a music video; it was a remake video of the song Viva La Vida by Coldplay. But, I was working by myself and the task seemed daun&ng. So, I decided to scrap the idea (because it seemed impossible to do alone). • So then I decided to join Amanpreet’s group because she was doing a magazine and it seemed more fun to do.
New Project • My ini&al inten&ons were to make a website version on Amanpreet’s magazine: “Fashion”. • However, it soon turned into my own work and it singled me away from Amanpreet. • I chose to do a website because it is simpler to make, rather than my first idea which was a music video. I chose to do the website because the video would have required a team to create effec&vely and I was working individually.
If I have achieved my inten&ons • To an extent, yes. My target audience was reached (16‐24), this was clearly shown through the answers to my primary research ques&onnaire. • However, the target audience which I set out to address also cri&cised my website, saying that it wasn’t helpful with with where to buy fashion that was exhibited. But they did say it was well organised and the ar&cles in it are well wri[en.
The impact of my research • Most of the research I did for my website was looking at other fashion websites such as Mode and Vogue. It gave me ideas such as to have a horizontal naviga&on bar at the top of the page; this makes the website seem more &dy and organised. This then provides me more space for more links to other pages, rather than having ar&cles and random fahsion bits all the &me. • Another idea Vogue gave me was a slideshow of ar&cles on the home page; this shows what Vogue has to offer on the website.
Planning & Team Coordina&on • Since I was on my own for most of the &me, I was able to concentrate. I got a completed dra] of my website by the end of the week I started on it. However, my team work with Amanpreet declined during the end; but we did exchange stories and ar&cles. The good point of this is that I was able to be more independent and more crea&ve with the work I did, rather than having to always having to abide by each‐others rules.
Aesthe&cs of my product • In my own opinion, I think my website looks amateurish. There isn’t a real colour scheme, everything looks un&dy on the front page (more towards the bo[om). • However I think some pages seem more professionally done, for example, my “Models” page is very neatly organised. The biography is well wri[en as well. • Next &me, I’ll have a colour scheme for my website, mainly to make it seem more &dy. This is because I think some people were put off by the darker colours used in the website.
