LAPTOPS 4 KIDS Everyone appreciates that education is superimportant, more now than ever before. With schools closed at the moment to most pupils, home learning has become a necessity. Unfortunately, not all children learning from home have access to a laptop to take full advantage of some of the brilliant resources available online. Many schools are holding remote learning sessions and some children are missing out on learning opportunities due to not having a suitable device.

A suitable device for donation would include any laptop that is: • Between 0 and 7 years old • In good working order • In good condition – no major physical damage • Complete with mains power adaptor • Still holding a battery charge for 60+ minutes If you work for a local business that has surplus laptops that meet these criteria, or you have a laptop at home that would fit the description, please do get in touch with the team at https://www.knowledgeadd.com/ laptops4kids and they will help you to support a local child’s education during these challenging times.

The government have pledged to make more laptops and tablets available to Primary School’s over the coming weeks, with some availability for Secondary Schools through local authorities. Students in years 12 and 13 will not have access to Government’s Get Help With Technology scheme until the Spring Term 2021.

We are asking local businesses and local people who may have unused or unwanted laptops, suitable for repurposing to support a child’s education through home learning, to make a donation through KnowledgeAdd’s Laptop 4 Kids initiative. After making a pledge to donate a laptop, KnowledgeAdd will arrange a no-contact collection, either direct or via a courier. The laptop will be delivered to our workshop, where it will undergo suitability testing. This includes wiping all existing data on the laptop using specialist software,
