PROJECT : DESIGNING A RESIDENTIAL APPARTMENT INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PROJECT YEAR : JANUARY - FEBUARY 2017

Objective- The objective of this design exercise is to achieve a better understanding of the dynamics of multicellular space, gradations of privacy, and sociocultural practices. The project deals with designing a residential duplex unit of the building. Concept- There is a huge difference between the ages and the preferences of the residents of this house. While the grandfather and mother want something calm and soothing the younger boys would prefer a brighter environment. Keeping these factors in mind I came up with a theme that satisfies the needs of every resident. PUNKDECO- PUNKDECO refers to an amalgamation of bright and calm. It brings a bright interior with a calmer touch using lights and wall colors. The lighting, designing, and all other aspects involve a blend of punk and deco. All the textures, colors, and materials used in the apartment are based on the concept. Its wall color and lightings are mild and soothing while the furniture design gives a punky look.

PROJECT : DESIGNING AN OFFICE WORKSPACE INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PROJECT YEAR : MARCH - APRIL 2017

Objective- To design an office space for any designer- could be either fashion, interior, communication or a product designer. Option selected- Fashion designer Concept- The fashion designer that I selected works in Avante Garde style. His designing style is very unique and he creates path-breaking out of the box designs. Implementation- The main objective of my designing was to convey the designer’s style to the employees and the clients through the office space. In order to achieve this, I used bold furniture and color scheme. Following are some examples of how the concept is implemented in the design1. Bold wall installation with patterns 2. Unusual wall panels using aluminum sheets 3. Seating in the breakout area is a bit quirky for the employees to rejuvenate 4. Joint table for the designer and tailor to allow easy communication 5. The entire office is easily accessible for the principal designer, clients, and the employees. The principal designer can view the entire office through his cabin 6. Unconventional conference table in order to promote better team cohesiveness and idea generation.

PROJECT : ADAPTIVE REUSE OF HERITAGE BUILDING INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PROJECT YEAR : OCTOBER- NOVEMBER 2017 Objective- To design a heritage building keeping the details intact. It was to be converted to a gallery and co working space. Concept- MYRAID is a space that is designed based on priciple of multiple levels, indistinguishable with each other. Every level of myraid has been designed with minimalism keeping in mind th overall concept of the space. At each level we have featured areas, each serving a different purpose. The whole space have been designed in a way depicting a gallery, giving an astonishing view of all homogenous levels if seen from the top. Since, I have designed the space based on minimalism, monochromatic shade have been used with a tinge of green similar to mountain meadow shade to create a positive and balance enviornmnet around the space. A very distinguishing element that have been added is different patters of monochromatic flooring have been used for different levels. The whole space gives a look and feel of infinity leading to another and expanding the horizon of the space.

This was a successful project that brought the team of 100+ students together from across disciplines and levels, guided by faculty and industry mentors from Association of Designers of India. On days event : Typo Installation from workshop by Pidilite which was done inhouse by Pearlites.

PROJECT : MAKING DESIGN VISIBLE 2018 GROUP PROJECT PROJECT YEAR : JANUARY-MARCH 2018 Scouting through the urban jungle of Mumbai, over a 100 students left the creative abode of Pearl Academy to look for good design. Scanning the landscape, sifting through data, with the help of Association of Designers of India, Mumbai we could make Making Design Visible, 2018 possible. The initiative involved students by disintegrating them from their design specialisation to be able to widen the range of design abilities and help grow a interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary attitude. For the two of us leading the project we were pulled out of the encasement of our past learnings, ready to take on the challenges of the industry. We set out to learn and adopt from the best of the best in the field of design in India. Humbled with a great set of mentors and a enthusiastic team, Making Design Visible was a true success. We were given the opportunity to showcase our learnings, and what better way to do it today than with something interactive. We created interactive installations that transformed spaces into data that we had procured. Visitors from across India got to experience the essence of good design as it was embossed from the metropolitan canvas. From bustling platforms, to the simplest forms of good type, through play of light and shadow to good use of space, all the good designs in the city were showcased. In hindsight, the exhibition was a medium to help spread awareness on the value design creates to the everyday of the life of a Mumbaikar. It was to create dialogue, to spark conversations on what is truly required, what is good design and why? What are its uses and how can everything be made relevant? These questions were addressed, debated and discussed over in two panel discussions which now leaves a bigger palette of thought to be dabbled upon in the future.

The light uses two means of lighting system. Sunlight arrives through the holes made on the roof during the morning and the second type of lighting uses solar panels attached to the roof which absorb light in the morning and shine up during the night. Its functional and maximises operational efficiency.

The roof at the departure terminal of the international airport in Mumbai maximises efficiency and sustainability.

This is an abstract version of the roof at the departure terminal. The peacock clad roof makes use of sunlight and solar panels. Our target was to capture the cultural aesthetics of the locations and show its efficiency and usage of lighting system used there. The lights are inspired by the national animal of India I.e. the Peacock. The shapes are identical to a peacock feather. This surrounding blends with the local surroundings and connects to the culture of India.

PROJECT : FESTIVAL OF ARCHITECTURE AND INTERIOR GROUP PROJECT PROJECT YEAR : NOVEMBER 2017 Objective- The objective to make an installation for the event with a social goal. Our team was among the top 7 selected installations Concept- “Beauty is the illumination of your soul.” - JOHN O’ DONOHUE Though it is said “all men are created equal,” equality is something LGBT community always struggle with, and are yet to achieve.Being the voice of today’s youth we feel it is our responsibility to translate this and try to break the stigma associated with this topic which can be endlessly seen in today’s society through the concept of our installation. Our project ‘YUGEN’ is an installation in the form of a diamond, the purest and invincible stone that can be found on this planet which is a symbol of innocence and contains all the colors of rainbow in it, depicting universal unity. The infinity mirror used creates an unending stream of light which depicts how there should be no barriers when it comes to the LGBT community and just like everyone else they should also be given an equal chance to express themselves.

PROJECT : FESTIVAL OF ARCHITECTURE AND INTERIOR GROUP PROJECT PROJECT YEAR : NOVEMBER 2017 Objective- This project was done for FOAID 2017 , and was designed beside

the art kitab cafe which sold books to people coming for the festival. The chairs designed was then used by the people coming to the art kitab cafe to sit and read. The inspiration behind the design of the chairs is derived from English and Hindi alphabets. Chairs were made with mild steel material to give stability and strength. As a part of design element the chairs are to be hung on the wall with the use of magnet, thus the overall impact is created where the chairs are designed to look light weight but are quiet strong enough to be held on the decal with a wooden frame to hang them on the wall. The mangnets were attached on either side of the wooden frame and thus was given more precise attention as it holds it intact on the wall.

Impact - When we start giving equal opportunities to women as that of men , there will a large scale impact on them . They will be able to express themselves completely , they will be able to come out with the new ideas and many other ways to get their dreams fulfilled . It will change the mindset of different kinds of people and definately no female will consider themself inferior to that of male .

COMPETITION: WHAT’S NEXT INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PROJECT PROJECT YEAR : MARCH 2017 Problem - We live in a fickle minded society where, when we need to take out our frustration and anger out, we need a help of women . Whenever we need to outdo any challenge we need to get our back from a women, whenever we need to accomplish new heights we need a support from women . So the problem is WHEN A WOMAN NEED EQUALITY IN ALL THE ASPECTS IN SOCIETY, WHERE DO THE PEOPLE WHO NEED THEM IN HELP WOULD GO ? The number women in all the fields are always lower than that of men. And especially in a filed like sports. Context - The sports are necessary to maintain a physical and mental status of an individual . It helps to maintain one’s physique and helps to lead a healthy and prosperous life . So when it comes to do any household work we place women above men, but when it comes to equality WE PLACE MAN SUPERIOR THAN WOMAN . When it comes for getting opportunities in sports , why women are getting less number of chances. IDEA - Since the challenges faced by a women are not only from the outside world, it’s also the challenge from inside which hinders their progress . First of all the society should encourage women as much as they encourage men , and provide them equal opportunities and give them enough confidence. It all starts from the parents as parents are the backbone of their children’s progress. If parents support their daughters then no one can make them belittle about their dreams. So the BOOTH which is designed is to help women give opportunities where girls and women can send their mails to the sports department of government. These booth with be installed in all the public spaces, such as schools, colleges, different institutes etc. Like how post box are installed all over the city same way even this can be installed in the public area. The WINGS in the booth says : wings are like the hopes which can help them to fly and achieve their goals. HOPE is a good thing to have , maybe the best of things and no best things ever dies if you cant help someone reaching their goals then you also do not have rights to make their wings belittle And because women are made to fly. Constraints are the outside world and the filthy minded society which says thay women’s are not meant to be indulged in any physical activity, which could be done only by men .
