The organic plan is a result of the coordination of a spatial arrangement that focuses on the optiumn and critical viewing spot where the most important stars maybe observed. The central viewspots are opposite to each other on facing East and West to promote and sequence of stargazing that follows the natural pattern of which the stars shits over night from East to West. Behold of the sight, when you reveal your self after clustering through a dark and narrow threshold to reach the open stage elevated from its surrounding. Imagine the star shimmer on the Marble surface as if the very fabric of universe has seep into the ground, and immersing you in the ocean of stars.

Flight Hanlan’s Point - Toronto, Ontario Design Studio I: Section 1 - Fall 2017 Professor: Albert Smith Individual Hypothetical Project

The project is to be hypothetically constructed on Hanlan’s Island across Billy Bishop airport. The project objective is to create a platform to observe the flights happening about the airport. This particular design strives to recreate the sensation of flight for those visting to experience as they circulate to the top. . .

Followign the slope of the canopy, gravity will force much of the rain water to be collected in the central funneling system, and flows directly through the central column underground and out to the lake. The flower peddle canopy also serves to provide shading for the viewers below.

By the use of ramps, people are subjected to experiencing a sense of ascension, a journey of “flight�. This affect is further highten when the railings and floorings are essentially non-existent, but replaced with glass transparent to all of its surrounding. The tower soars 20 meters in height, to preclude the surrounding trees from obstructing views of Lake Ontario to the North, most importantly the views of the planes from the Bilibishops Air Port.

TORONTO ART MEUSUM OF GERHARD RITCHER COURT STREET PARKING- TORONTO, ONTARIO Design Studio III: Section 6 - Fall 2018 Professor: Julie Ourceau Individual Hypothetical Project

The project is to be hypothetically constructed on a site adjacent to Toronto’s St. James Cathedral, on a 600 square meter space. The building is to be a permenant museum, designed specifically for the famous abstract artist Gerhard Rithcer whom is renowned for his signiture image blurring technique to evoke the sensation of reminiscing. This sense of mystery, ambiguity and the notion of time are explored and reflected in the architectural design, in attempt to resonate with the personality of Art it hosts. Furthermore, the meseum will serve as a iconic architecture that endows identity to its community. . .

Situated right across to St. James Cathedral and along church street, the site is one of the most cultrally significant and traffically dynamic location in Toronto. The main entrence situates in the East building elevation capturing all attentions on the street. The buildign takes full exposure of the concealed courtyard to the west where the cafe resides. Most importantly, the building uses a dome as a major focal point, as well as the element that harmonizes the buildings existance with the preceeding Cathedral

The shape of vurnacular dome serves to draw difussed and direct sun light from every angle possible into the atrium, because the site’s limited sunlgiht time. Black Brick is used extensive to distant the building from the pedestrain in creating a sense of hyper awareness and awe, and simulatneously to passively drawing people into the building by evoking their curiosity; the building provides exposure of its interior from the exterior, along the south elevation. The contrast between the sharp exterior and the warm interior brings about a sense of suprise to those visiting. The Windw draws its form from the adjaceent building along to North, and the bay on the south elevation takes on a repetition that resonates with building to its East.

To improve upon the walls thermal performence, and the prevention of air and vapour infilatration. the layers of the envelope and the material used is changed slightly.

Starting from the interior, the Gypsum interior finish is coated with a new element of a layer of vapour permeable latex. Adjacent to the gypsumboard is a layer of Rock Wool Insulation with another layer of thicker ridgid Rock Wool Insulation. And the OSB used originally for sheathing covering the 13cm Rock Wool Insulation is to be changed into Ply-wood panels for greater stability and durability. A layer of blue skin is positioned after the sheating, acting as both an vapour and air barrier. And beyond the blueskin, is an layer of exterior insulation of Rock Wool, and the rest are batterns and sidings identical to the original design.
