The anima)on is about 2 monster friends who walk to work every day. Everyday they walk to work there is a monster who follows them and tries to stop them ge<ng to work because he doesn’t like them. He uses many different ways to try and stop them ge<ng to work. The monster fails in all his aAempts to stop them as the 2 monsters get into work, it ends with the evil monster running into the work doors which the other monsters just walked through.
I plan to make the anima)on about 60 seconds long because its only a quick filler programme for liAle children. I will be using the cut out technique for my anima)on as I think this will give it the best look too make it look like a kids cartoon
I want the anima)on to look quite smooth and realis)c for as much as it could be for cut out anima)on. I would also not want it too be too jumpy. I would be aiming for about 14 or 15 frames per second in my anima)on
I plan to make my anima)on aimed at children between the ages of 4 and 10. the reason for this is that an anima)on involving monsters will usually be for children. I have also aimed at younger children because I think older children will not be interested in watching this I would want the anima)on to be shown either before school at 7:30 am onwards and I would also want it too be shown aOer school at around 4:15 onwards as I think this’ll be the best )mes too show it to get a bigger audience. The reason it is aimed at this age group is because I think that children would be drawn to it by the bright colors and sounds, also by the characters as monsters being used as characters are usually in some type of children’s anima)on.
One of the inspira)ons for my anima)on is the film monsters inc. this is because I am also using monsters as main characters and think this will work very well as a anima)on.
Another inspira)on for my anima)on is looney tunes. The reason for this is that looney tunes uses some of “slaps)ck” jokes that I will want to use in my anima)on, such as birds flying round someones head when there hurt.
