GM’s Corner MESSAGE TO THE TEAM
Another fantastic month for the hotel sees us hitting budget for a second month in a row. As last month was the first time we achieved hitting the target for a single month in three years then I could not even begin to guess when the last time we managed to achieve two months running happened. Well done everyone. MONDAY, MARCH 28, 2011 It was achieved on the back of a couple of large residential groups that kept everyone extra busy for two weeks of the month. The great news is not only the fact that they had a great time but we are also in the running to get future bookings for the same companies. A real testament to everyone’s hard work from initial booking right through to the final checkout. I cannot begin to stress how important the great service that they received was to the fact that we are looking to get repeat business. Another big pat on the back to the entire team. Whilst everyone was busy with one of the groups I was away on Hilton GM induction (I didn’t plan it that way, honest) and the success of our hotel is reaching out across the Hilton estate and in particular the management team. We were asked to read our SALT scores out in a room full of other GM’s. Needless to say how happy I was when we were ranked second highest in the room. First by the way was a small hotel in the Alps and we were only 2 points behind them! This good service has also continued on the upward trend in our Tripadvisor scores. We are now ranked #331 with a score of 66%. So in four months we have risen 134 spots and increased the score by 7%. Keep up the good work everyone. We are forecasting the business to continue on its recent trend for the next few months. We hope to finish of the year in style with a great December of Christmas parties. Remember to ask all your friends, relatives and neighbours if they have a group or company who are after somewhere to celebrate the festive period. If you pass the booking to the Meetings Team there might be a special prize in your stocking this year! Ho Ho Ho.

Employee of the Month - August Well done to Patrick Kennelly - Maintenance for winning employee of the month award for August. Patrick was nominated for going the extra mile by coming in on his days off to make sure the department is running smoothly while his line manager was on annual leave. Well done to Patrick who wins £100 (through payroll), bottle of champagne & an award certificate.
