Remembering OLIVE A service of Thanksgiving and Interment of Ashes

Led by Canon Roger Humphreys

Opening Prayer

BIBLE READING From St John’s Gospel, chapter 14 Jesus said: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me; that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

LETTER TO OLIVE BY MATTHEW SONG BY CHARLOTTE George & Jonah - For OLIVE ADDRESS PRAYERS LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as is it in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who lead us into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Jesus said, ‘Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you.’ Let us pray together for peace for each other: Loving God, we long for peace: Peace to leave Olive with you, Peace to strengthen us for today and tomorrow, Peace with ourselves, with each other and with you. Grant us that peace which the world cannot give: Through Jesus Christ, your Son. Amen.
