INTRO. During the postgraduate of Innovation and Design Thinking, the Mass Touris in Barcelona was chosen as the central theme for the project. Different methodologies were used to generate the main insights and to design a service or product: research, interviews with locals and tourists, shadowing (observe the behavior of tourists in touristic points of the city), interviews with owners of hostels and airbnbs . The following insights were concluded: 1

“Tourist are interested in a <<local experience>> but locals are not aware that they are part of that experience”

2

/GAP “When the locals get a contact with the tourist they are interested in sharing what they know about the city” /OPP “The local experience is anything different from the tourist’s normal routine, they want a story to tell”

3

/NEED

”Food and language are the <<short cuts>> for the local experience that the tourist is looking for, they want inmidiacy”

BARCELONA: THE 4TH MOST VISITED CITY OF EUROPE

1. London 2. Paris 3. Rome

An app prototype was created together with Edreams that allowed tourists to find restaurants with "Tables to share" with locals. For taking the experience both, the local and the tourist, received a discount code to buy flights in Spain. This helped to: · Improve tourist-local relationship · Promote tourism throughout Spain and decentralize it in Barcelona · Promote restaurants with honest prices for tourists · Increase sales in restaurants. Tools such as were used in the process: · StakeHolders Map · People · Prototyping · Customer Journey <<PERSONAS>> Anna tourist greek

HITO. Collection of 5 products of Granadillo and aluminu. Granadillo is in danger of extintion so the collection focus each of the products on a unique experience for the user and at the same time promotes the conservation of wood. This project was made for the benefit of the wooden laboratory of the UDG, for the use of precious wood in functional products that at the same time are treasures for the user.

The Central American migrants remain under anonymity that has two sides. Beneficial for maintaining a low profile at the time of a possible kidnapping, extortion, or being deported. But this also imply a big list of negative consequences. Wanting to raise awareness about the violence that exists towards Central American migrants in Mexico, a performatic project was made with the collaboration 6 Central American migrants waiting for the train, or better known as The Beast, to continue their trip to the United States. Each one created a piece of clay that represented their dreams or fears. The pieces were exhibited in an urban museum located on the train tracks of Arcos and Inglaterra (GDL, JAL, MEX), in order to raise awareness among the mexican population about the problem and create some empathy. Exhibited in LARVA (LABORATORIO DE ARTE VARIEDADES) 2013
