Danger Dogs from Nepal – Folk Art from the Himalayas
As much as I love this portrait of Grace, it is not typical of Dilip’s painting. Dilip (with his wife above) prefers to paint Doberman Pinschers and Alsatians. Strangely enough, Dilip was the only artist to paint Grace without a green background. This 4th Danger Dog cycle, I gave Dilip a painting of a cat for the first time. No surprise, it was the last one he finished. Below (far left) is a portrait of Siggy the Boxer, and (far right) Willi the Samoyed for the Venice breakfast restaurant “Flake” and it’s Water Bar for dogs. His finished painting of Obama (middle, work in progress) was exceptional.
