Good Evening and Welcome to our long awaited show!!
O
n behalf of our Board of Directors and the entire CWI team, welcome to Dancing with the Adirondack Stars 2022! As you may be aware, the pandemic had forced us to postpone this popular event for the last two years, so we are extremely excited to be able to finally hold it. It is particularly important in light of the effect of the pandemic on CWI and our community, to be able to have this fundraiser in a fun, relaxed environment such as The Charles R. Wood Theater, while showcasing who we are and our involvement in the community. This exciting dance competition has been a great success as a fundraiser as well as a “friend raiser,” allowing us to introduce CWI to so many people. As a special feature, our own CWI talent, representing agency supports such as Supervised Residences, Day Habilitation Service and Clinical Supports will no doubt steal the show with their heartwarming performances. They genuinely teach us we should always focus on abilities and align with our commitment to empower people to find their potential and pursue the lives they envision. We are thrilled to entertain you tonight with a new team of celebrities. These enthusiastic and generous people have rehearsed long hours with their volunteer professional dancers to entertain us and compete for the coveted Mirror Ball and Fan Favorite awards. Additionally, tonight’s opener will feature a “warm up act” by our dancer alumni! We greatly appreciate their commitment of time and energy on our behalf. Our judges, emcees, production crew and numerous volunteers are essential to this event. We are ever so thankful for the amazing support of tonight’s team, as well as our community as a whole. CWI remains a pivotal part of our community, providing unique supports and services in our region. During the pandemic this was recognized more than ever before. Our dedicated, passionate staff across the organization have demonstrated what heroes truly look like. They have been tested, stretched and tested again all the while keeping CWI’s mission and the people we serve at the forefront of their work. Our team is essential to the people we support and their families and we can’t thank them enough for going above and beyond day after day. We have had to continually adapt to meet the needs of individuals during this pandemic. Serving more than 900 individuals and providing employment opportunities for over 400 dedicated staff, we value being a true community partner and resource. I invite you to visit our website cwinc.org to discover the unique opportunities we offer to those we serve and employ. It is our hope that you have a great time this evening and gain a better understanding of who CWI is, what we do and the value we bring to the quality of life to those we support! We are eternally grateful to our generous sponsors who helped make tonight possible. I encourage you to support them and to personally thank them as many are in attendance. Thank you for becoming a “friend” of CWI. Sincerely,
Deb
