n the Festspielhaus St. Pölten, there is an endless coming and going of international renowned stars of contemporary dance! Young choreographers and dancers have the possibility to train with the renowned companies at masterclasses.
”The biggest beast in british choreography“ kehrt Ende Jänner mit seinem neuesten Coup nach St. Pölten zurück: Hofesh Shechter präsentiert sein ”heartstopping“ (Financial Times) ”Grand Finale“ als Österreich-Premiere. In einem ultimativen danse macabre wuchtet der Starchoreograf die bild gewaltige Vision einer Menschheit vor dem Abgrund auf die Bühne.
At the end of January, ”The biggest beast in british choreography“ returns to St. Pölten with his latest coup: Hofesh Shechter presents his "heartstopping“ (Financial Times) "Grand Finale“ as an Austrian premiere. In an ultimate danse macabre, the star choreographer stages the visually stunning vision of a humanity before the abyss.
Die Uraufführung von Alain Platels ”Requiem pour L.“ 2018 in Berlin wurde von einem gewaltigen Medienecho begleitet. Der belgische Regisseur zeigt Filmaufnahmen vom Sterben einer Frau, zu denen Fabrizio Cassol Mozarts unvollendetes ”Requiem” rekonstruiert. Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, bringt mit seinem Ballet Vlaanderen ”L’Oiseau de Feu/Exhibition“ zur Österreich-Premiere. Mit Ohad Naharins weltbekannter Bewegungssprache Gaga erarbeitet Artist-in-Residence Shahar Binyamini einen dreiteiligen Abend mit Profitänzern und Laien. Außerdem stehen offene Gaga/people Klassen am Programm. Die weltweit renommierte Sydney Dance Company unter Rafael Bonachela feiert zum Saisonabschluss die Europa-Premiere ihrer neuesten Kreation ”ab [intra]“.

The premiere of Alain Platel’s "Requiem pour L.“ 2018 in Belin was accompanied by a huge media response. The Belgian stage director shows a film about the death of a woman, accompanied by Fabrizio Cassol’s reconstruction of Mozart's unfinished ”Requiem”. Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and his Ballet Vlaanderen presents the Austrian premiere of ”L'Oiseau de Feu/Exhibition“. With professinal dancers and amateurs Artist-in-Residence Shahar Binyamini stages a triple bill with Ohad Naharin's world-famous body language Gaga. Open Gaga classes are available too. At the end of the season the worldwide renowned Sydney Dance Company under the direction of Rafael Bonachela is celebrating the European premiere of their latest creation ”ab [intra]“.
