Bregenzer Frühling 2014 Bregenz Spring Festival 2014 D as begehrte Tanzfestival in Bregenz sorgt für Frühlingsgefühle. Hochkarätige internationale Tanz-Compagnien gastieren ab März 2014 im Rahmen des ”Bregenzer Frühling“ im Festspielhaus Bregenz und präsentieren dort ihre neuesten Produktionen. Unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Wolfgang Fetz werden Uraufführungen sowie österreichische Erstaufführungen, die international Aufsehen erregt haben, zu sehen sein. Die Bandbreite ist groß.

”Desh“ ist das bislang persönlichste Werk, das der Tänzer und Star-Choreograf Akram Khan beim Bregenzer Frühling in einer Solo-Performance zeigt. Hochenergetischen Tanz und kraftvolle Livemusik lässt der gebürtige Israeli und derzeitige Shootingstar der Londoner Tanzszene Hofesh Shechter in ”Political Mother“ aufeinandertreffen. Im Werk Sidi Larbi Cherkaouis spielen Duette eine wichtige Rolle. ”4D“ ist eine Folge von vier seiner besten Duette, die im März 2013 uraufgeführt worden sind. Es ist die Vollkommenheit, die das Nederlands Dans Theater 2 ausstrahlt und dieses so unverwechselbar macht. Seine Perfektion ist nicht gekünstelt, sondern vermittelt eine natürliche Anmut. Eine wahre Schockwelle löste die Choreographie ”What the Body Does Not Remember“ aus, als diese 1987 zum ersten Mal der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert wurde. Extreme Schnelligkeit, äußerste Präzision und atemberaubende Spannung dominieren Wim Vandekeybus' Debut-Werk, das den Belgier mit nur 24 Jahren zu einem der weltweit einflussreichsten Choreographen hochkatapultiert hat. Das aktionstheater ensemble bringt mit ”Pension Europa“ wieder eine Uraufführung unter der Regie von Martin Gruber auf die Bühne des Festspielhauses.

Festival” in the Festspielhaus in Bregenz. Under the artistic direction of Wolfgang Fetz, the programme will include world premieres as well as first performances in Austria of works that have aroused great interest on the international scene. The variety of works on offer is considerable. “Desh” is the most personal work ever performed by the dancer and star choreographer Akram Khan as a soloist at the Bregenz Spring Festival. In “Political Mother”, Israeliborn rising star of the London dance scene Hofesh Shechter combines high-energy dance and powerful live music. In Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s work, duets play an important role. “4D” is a sequence of four of his best duets, first performed in March 2013. It is the quality of sheer perfection that radiates from the Nederlands Dans Theater 2 and makes this such a unique company. This perfection is not an artificial construct, but rather an expression of the dancers’ natural grace. The choreography “What the Body Does Not Remember” triggered a real shock wave when it was first presented to the public in 1987. Extreme speed, total precision and breathtaking excitement dominate Wim Vandekeybus’ debut work, which catapulted the 24-year-old Belgian to fame as one of the world’s most influential choreographers. With “Pension Europa”, aktionstheater ensemble once again brings a world premiere directed by Martin Gruber to the stage of the Festspielhaus.
