Morling and the Hoard The Staffordshire Hoard: Kathering Morling’s Response 21 July – 1 September Explore a fascinating exhibition of work by leading British artist Katharine Morling that references the worldwide significance of the Staffordshire Hoard.

Inspired by the dramatic architecture, Jeyasingh’s striking choreography contrasts and complements the rhythms and shapes of these historic buildings. TooMortal offers surprising new perspectives, with the dancers travelling over the pews on a powerful and mesmerising journey.

The Staffordshire Hoard is the largest and most impressive hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold and silver metalwork ever found, consisting of more than 1,500 beautifully crafted items. The artefacts have been dated to the 7th or 8th centuries, placing the origin of the items in the time of the Kingdom of Mercia. This specially commissioned exhibition will be at the core of a series of family-orientated workshops and activities that will focus on this glittering treasure, buried for over thirteen hundred years.
