Let the experts from Mosaic Supplies Ltd Stourport teach you how to work with mosaics. You can start small or be more ambitious with projects such as coasters - £2 (taking 10-20 min) a pebble picture frame £5 (20-30min), or a mirror £8, (approx 45min -1 hour. They’ll be back here on the 25th and in the Swan Centre on the 14th.
FILM FESTIVAL OUTREACH

Celebrating local film-makers & inspiring people to pick up cameras & tell their own stories. KAF will be a festival roadshow host. St. George’s Church will celebrate Kidderminster’s cinematic history and would like to invite those who have been to cinemas in the Wyre Forest that have long gone or those who worked in these fine buildings to bring any memorabilia and your memories to contribute to a Cinema Heritage project which will be part of an online album called Worcestershire Cinema Through the Ages. The Boars Head will be screening locally produced films & celebrating their makers. We will be holding talks on movie making and would like to invite you to join us. We particularly would like to invite film-makers from the area to network and be involved in festival projects. Sarah Tamar bagged the Xpressions Dragons Den grant in 2011, since then she’s been running workshops, visiting matches & generally becoming a conduit for women’s feelings on football. Love it or hate it the fruits of Sarah’s labour will be presented to you at this favourite local venue. The performance will imbue the atmosphere of a football match & feature a selection of writing produced in workshops plus some of Sarah’s own musings. Allia Khan from Step Up Dance Academy along with Hannah Wilkins and Elements Dance Group will be providing a 45 min streetdance performance followed by a 45 minute workshop. It will feature fresh and funky routines from Elements Dance Group leading up to a workshop to learn all the streetdance moves.

Cost: FREE Two spectacular nights of animated illumination and music with artists Urban Canvas & Urban Projections. The grand finale of KAF & a show on a scale Kidderminster has not seen before. Don’t miss it! Peter Barber (who painted the images on Worcester St & in the canal tunnel under St. Mary’s Church) will be creating live graffiti art which will be projected on a huge scale onto Crown House & the surrounding buildings. There will be 40 minutes of amazing digital animation & unique music. Those wishing to be part of the lantern procession should meet at the town hall should meet at the town hall at 8.45pm, we recommend you come along to our free lantern making workshop on the 18th but if you can’t make that and have a lantern you made earlier bring it along and join in the fun.
BE PART OF IT!
Get your face or the face of someone you admire, projected onto the buildings in the Bullring in Kidderminster as part of the biggest show the town has ever seen. You’ll be the size of a billboard! The face can be that of a person of any age, they must have a strong connection with or be living in the Kidderminster area. Tell us why they should be starring in the show and see if they get selected to become part of this spectacular Paralympic celebration event. There’s limited availability and they could be shown on either night but either way they’ll be included in our exhibition in the library gallery for the duration of KAF. Here’s what you do Nominate yourself or someone else, give their name and contact details, an email and phone number and tell us why they should be part of the show. We will need to contact them to get their consent. We need 4 photographs in slightly different poses, take them against a dark background, make sure you leave a gap between the persons head and the top of the photo – don’t chop off their hair. Try and make the image as high res as possible, and the camera should be held on its side when you take the picture (landscape). As part of it’s national hunt for SUCCESS Bio Organism Substrate Industries will be sending one of it’s highly qualified technicians to Kidderminster to place a Success Transmission Device on the Library wall. The unit will be erected on the 12th of July. The information unit transmits Success data to the BOSInd HQ in Basingstoke & supports the studies the Bio Organism Substrate Industries mobile Lab collates as it tours the country gathering data & aromas so it can mass produce the Sweet Smell Of Success for the betterment of mankind as a whole. “We are finding Success in unexpected places and urge the good people of Kidderminster to pop down to the Library and put themselves on the Map Of Success either at one of the computers or by using one of the freepost post cards” Dr. Tracy Roma The project can be followed at www.sweetsmellofsuccess.co.uk

Mill Street Subway will be magically transformed from its dowdy self into a glittering example of urban art. An, as yet, undisclosed artist will be giving the tunnel a spruce up during the first week of KAF. It will become grand entrance into the town centre you will look forward to visiting. Random Acts Of Art: KAF is organising exhibitions & happenings in public spaces around the town centre; due to the nature of this work & how it’s funded; we cannot always confirm the location or times in advance. We will advertise some elements via our web site, on Facebook KAF arts & on ‘A’ boards or publicity at the time of the event. We hope to display this throughout the event. Access information: The Town Hall wheelchair access which can be found in the car park at the rear of the building. The nearest disabled parking bays are directly outside the Town Hall. The nearest available car park is on Market Street offering up to 1 hour parking and is about a 3 minute walk to the town hall. Other parking is available at approximately 5 minutes walk away next to Aldi. Buses stop immediately outside the Town Hall.
