WELCOME
Welcome to the Dana Cup Mini – an international youth football tournament for boys and girls.
Dana Cup Mini is, as it sounds, a miniature edition of our larger Dana Cup tournament, held in the end of July each summer.
We use the same facilities and the same administration, so the tournament will run at the same high level but just over a shorter period of time.
TOURNAMENT
The tournament will be played on grass and artificial fields in the Dana Cup Center Area – all within walking distance.
The aim is for each team to play 4-6 games during the tournament.
The first games will start on Thursday the 9th of May 2024 at 08.30 and the last games will start on Saturday the 11th of May 2024 at 17.15.
FIRST ROUNDS – THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
The teams are divided into groups of 4-5 teams. All-play-all tournament. The top two teams in each group advance to the A-finals, which are played according to the cup system, with the losing teams being eliminated.
The other teams in the group continue in the B-finals, which are also played according to the cup system.
SECOND ROUNDS – SATURDAY (1-3 GAMES)
Tied matches are decided by penalty kicks.
The penalty kick competitions are conducted according to FIFA’s rules with the following exceptions. Since there is free substitution, the players who have been substituted at the end of the match can - possibly must - take part in the penalty shootout. The teams are made equal in size.
In 8:8 matches, however, only 4 kicks for each team and in 5:5 matches 2 kicks for each team.
It is possible to arrange training matches for the teams that leave the tournament after the quarter-finals.

B12 Boys (8:8) born 1.1.2012 or later
B11 Boys (8:8) born 1.1.2013 or later
B10 Boys (5:5) born 1.1.2014 or later
AGE REQUIREMENTS ETC
There is an automatic dispensation to include 2 players on the participant list, who are 1 year over the age limit. Only 1 player in the 5:5 classes. Any player can participate on two teams from the same club, as long as the age limit is kept. The two teams must not be in the same class.
Any girls can participate in classes for boys as long as they are the correct age.
The players must be able to present satisfactory identification.
SUBSTITUTION
In 11:11 games, a team can use a maximum of 7 substitutes per game. In 8:8 and 5:5 games, a team can use as many substitutes as they want. All players can be substituted in and out – (free substitution).
PLAYING PERIODS
Playing times are 2 x 30 minutes in each game.
PRIZES
• Trophy and medals to all final teams.
• A special prize for the best player in each final.
TRANSPORT
It is possible to order transfers on arrival and departure, to and from Northern Jutland for a fee.
All games are played within walking distance of the schools and the upgrade options.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation is in a school or a hall in the center of Hjørring. Participants must bring their own mattresses and sleeping bags. It is possible to rent a mattress or bed through the Dana Cup.
The accommodations can be used from Wednesday to Sunday.
UPGRADES FOR TEAMS, PARENTS AND SUPPORTERS
Teams, parents and supporters can upgrade from school accommodation to the Dana Cup SportsCenter, Dana Cup Town or the City Camping Hjørring.
Hotel Phønix in Hjørring and Strandlyst in Hirtshals are only for parents or supporters.
MEALS
Healthy meals are served over the 3 days of the tournament.
The first meal is breakfast on Thursday and the last meal is breakfast on Sunday.
Teams arriving early can order extra meals.
EVENTS
• Trainer “Get Together” – Friday night with dinner
• Fun activities in the hall Thursday, Friday and Saturday
• Free access to the swimming pool Thursday and Friday
• Extra: Fårup Sommerland (can be booked).
START AND PARTICIPATION FEES
Each team will pay a start fee. All players, trainers, leaders and others with accommodation in a school will pay a participation fee (A-band). Players, trainers and leaders who do not have accommodation on a school will also pay a participation fee (D-band).
Your entry form and start fee must reach Dana Cup Mini by the latest date the 15th of March 2024.

A-BAND INCLUDES
• Participation in the Dana Cup Mini football tournament.
• Full board from Thursday (breakfast) to Sunday (breakfast).
• Accommodation in a school.
• Transport on arrival/departure - ferry Frederikshavn/Hirtshals/Grenaaplane Aalborg/Aarhus - train Hjørring, must be ordered and there is a fee per person/per way for this transport.
• Free access to swimming.
• Free access to the Dana Cup Mini event area.
• Discount to Fårup Summerland.
D-BAND INCLUDES
