ILIYA: THE RESILIENT TOWN OF FAREHAM The Iliya project attempts to address the three pillars of sustainability, social, economic and environmental, through planning a new town in Fareham. Passive urban design strategies are considered from the conceptual design stage to mitigate the undesired climate condi-

tions and optimise the desired ones, as well as maximise the potential for renewable energy. Moreover, the scheme aims to provide a walkable environment through mixed-use design and strategic allocation of main services and infrastructure, such as public transportation.

ILIYA: THE RESILIENT TOWN OF FAREHAM


METAMORPHOSIS PAVILION Metamorphosis pavilion is a multidisciplinary project, located in West Dean College, Chichester. It is a memorial for the Great Storm, 1987, that played a major role in shaping West Dean Gardens the way it is today. The project main criteria are to design a structure that is environmentally and historically sensitive and contribute to the cultural value of West Dean. The concept takes inspiration from the English Garden ideology of naturalistic design. The organic Form and Materials of the structure would enable it to gradually blend with the surrounding landscape, becoming like a living organism that is part of life cycle. The feasibility of the project construction is explored through incorporating Biomimicry concept with 3D printing.

FIRST GULF BANK COMPETITION: EMIRATI NATIONAL HOUSING Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE Competition Year: 2016 Project Aim: Part of First Gulf Bank non-profitable loans scheme to Emirates nationals to construct their own houses. Award: Third Place Sotwares: Revit, AutoCad, Photoshop The design responds to the needs of the large family unit in Emirates society. Culturly, it is common for the sons to remain with their families after getting married at the beginning of their married life. the concept attempts to create balance between theshared large family social space, and the more private social places.
