Irondequoit Country Club Established in 1916

A glimpse of life at ICC 4045 East Avenue •Rochester NY• 14618 •(585)586.5880•

History Irondequoit Country Club is nestled in the heart of suburban Pittsford, NY, just minutes away from downtown Rochester. It’s a place for friends, families, and a place for business and social gatherings. Most importantly, it’s a place for our members to relax and enjoy a full range of sporting and social activities in an atmosphere of understated elegance. In 1916 the distinguished Scottish golf course architect, Donald Ross designed a nine-hole course on the hilly East Avenue terrain. With horses and men, he fashioned a tract of 3, 100 yards containing three par threes, three par fours and three par fives. The course was played twice, and although relatively short in distance, Ross compensated for this by creating a challenging lay-out over the hilly terrain, which produced many lies, all commanding a golfers best shot. In 1952, a second nine was added when land was purchased from Oak Hill Country Club. Irondequoit Country Club is proud to boast that the club adheres to the design principles that were intended for this now classic course. In addition to the storied golf course, Irondequoit Country Club has an active golf and tennis program, recreational swimming, area famous dining and a family friendly atmosphere. The Club is evolving from its early roots, and is a non-denominational club offering a superior recreational experience to families. We are fortunate to be located on a beautiful piece of land with a well-designed course, in a convenient suburban location.

The golf course is a par seventy and plays at 6, 720 yards. Three of the holes were ranked by the P.G.A. among the toughest 50 holes on the Nationwide Tour. Among one of the most scenic courses in the Rochester District, Irondequoit is also in the top ten in difficulty. Our challenging 18-hole course has received praise from a variety of golf associations and publications. Among them, Golf World named Irondequoit Country Club as “one of Donald Ross” less celebrated but most outstanding courses.” Many tournaments have been played at this great venue such as, charity tournaments, US Open Qualifiers, Pro-Ams, and the PGA Nationwide Tour Xerox Classic.

“I love this golf course, I can’t say enough about the real golf you have to play. You bounce the ball in, curve it both ways, use the hills and the contours.” - Two time PGA Tour Winner – Mark Wiebe

Newly Renovated Clubhouse 2009 Completion of Full Interior & Exterior Renovation Project In May 2009 we completed an extensive remodeling and relocating of the existing interior spaces of the clubhouse. One of the most crucial components was the moving of the Bar and Grill rooms to the North side of the building overlooking the golf course. A new plaza style’ area was created to provide a dramatic entrance to the pool, snack bar, and seating area overlooking our facilities. A new addition to the North West corner of the building provides space for a brand new bar and lounge area. Housed beneath the bar/lounge is a new integrated Golf Pro Shop. A new addition extending over the previous patio foundation is now the new members grill/ dining room with an expansive terrace that wraps around the pool side of the clubhouse. All interior spaces have also received new finishes. The exterior of the club received a facelift with new stucco finish and roof lines reminiscent of the prominent villa style mansions located along East Avenue.
