Repeated, though qualitatively thought-out guitar melodies, coming into the foreground, more clean vocals of Michael and an entire melancholic release causes a will to sit down and think. Although, sometimes you’d jump up from the chair and desperately headbang along with unexpected tempo changes and excellent growl. No doubt, the new Dark Tranquillity will face down some fans of their heavy sounding. However, I assume that Construct can be surprisingly appreciated by S.O.A.D. listeners, because even the first song “For Broken Words” is much alike the famous “Spiders”. Text — Helle Danova

However, their music only benefits from it, because that is softness of the dark side, which Tristania managed to present to its listeners in a beautiful and gothic way. Moreover, I can’t but mention Mariangela’s incredible vocals, who showed all its power through solo-performance, avoiding excessive layers of backing vocals (check out “Requiem” song, for example).
