Master Plan

Pointe Hotel, Water Park AECOM, Summer 2017, Landscape Architectural Intern Site: The Point Hotel, Nassau, Bahamas Task: Master Plan Rendering, Conceptual Sections and Elevations Design Phase: Schematic Design The Hotel Water Park Zone, adjacent to the hotel, introduces a fun-filled and compact water park attraction. One of the most visible elements of the water park is the slide complex and tower. There are three distinct thrill ride water slides that launch from an elevation of approximately 42 feet above deck level. In addition to the slides, the tower hosts a 30 feet rock climbing wall and rappelling platform. At one end of the lazy river, a beach entry is designed for accessibility and is neighboring an active water play structure that caters to younger children.

Aztec Theme Park

Master Plan

Studio: Fall 2017 LA7051, Advanced Topic 1 Site: Bosque de Chapultepec Section III, Mexico City, Mexică…?o In the context of a more practical work-live-recreate urban experiment, the project explored strategies for transforming Area III of the Bosque Chapultepec from an under-utilized, considered unsafe and poorly understood area into a vibrant and desirable urban centerpiece. Bosque Chapultepec was established over 1500 years ago by the Aztec culture. A hub of eco-tourism will be created with senary industry strategies.

Concept

Monopoly Landscape with Augmented Reality Studio: Spring 2017 LA7041, Urban Systems Site: Neutral Grounds, New Orleans, Louisiana Throughout the second half of the 18th century, Louisiana was a pawn on the chessboard of European politics. It was controlled by the French, who had a few small settlements along the Mississippi River. Later on, Spain gained control of the territory, West of the Mississippi River. Inspired by historic battles, ‘Monopoly Landscape’ with Augmented Reality Technology and Green Infrastructure would be able to facilitate regional economy in New Orleans.

Award: 6th Urban Forest Design Competition, Director of Korea Forest Service Prize (3rd) Site: Sinheung-dong, Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do, Korea People will experience the modern history of the city of Gunsan. Starting with the ‘Japanese Colonial Forest’, visitors will go through ‘Independence Plaza’ and will experience different historical phases. People can enjoy the top of the forest, appreciating the beautiful panoramic scenery of the city. In a metaphorical way, people can be engaged in the city of Gunsan history.

People might feel the oppressed history of Japanese imperialism when they pass through the forest composed of Metasequoia in high density.

As they go through ‘ Independence Plaza’, people would be dynamic and active. They overlook the panoramic view of the city and Keum River Estuary at the top of the forest.

2016 72HOURS URBAN ACTION Awarded 1st Prize Site: 906-16, Bangbae-dong, Seoul, South Korea Instructor: Youngmin Kim Coworkers: Somi Go, Sujung Kim 72 Hour Urban Action is an upcoming voice in the global movement of participatory tactical urbanism. The teams design, build, sleep and party on site to generate interventions in public space within 3 days, a tight budget and limited space.

CSS recognized that the impact of the March floods was felt by individuals and government agencies across a varied landscape. Impacted communities were major cities and rural communities, all of which had unique circumstances tied to their planning and recovery needs. The intensive two-day, closed-door workshop provided six mayors with direct access to six nationally - renowned planning and urban design professionals for candid discussion on realworld problems and projects. Subject matter experts represented fields such as applied ecology, economic development, urban resilience and coastal management.


Example) Regional Geographic Significance: Campti Campti is located in Natchitoches Parish, and is the oldest community on the Red River. The economic and demographic trends, geographic location, environmental resources, and long history have played an important role in shaping the community’s identity.

The incoming population grows as Gwanggyo New Town is built. Thus, there has been a gradual decline in the quality of water because of recreational facilities and domestic waste water. To restore the quality of water, it is necessary to establish a sewage disposal plant. Geographic Information System plays a significant role in searching the suitable land for sewage disposal plant. I found good areas and bad areas by geo-processing, then extracted and buffered data layers. When I erased bad areas from good areas, finally I could find suitable areas.

Thus, it is hard to commune with nature. Apartment residents might be proud of having their own forest. Tall pine forest which reached a height of around 40ft makes Hillstate Apartment Complex healthier. In ‘Seven Theme Gardens’, whole family would have some time to relax.
