I have been an EFL/ESP teacher for more than 30 years. I graduated in Language Teaching, have a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics, and a PhD in Education from Universidad de Valencia in Spain
I am currently a Full professor at Universidad Simon Bolivar, Caracas, Venezuela
Besides teaching technology-related courses (blended and online) at the graduate level,
I also teach blended English for Architecture and Urban Planning courses.
In 2002, I joined the TESOL Electronic Village Online (EVO) session â€œWebheads in Actionâ€?, and have been an active webhead since.
By the end of 2002, I became part of the EVO Coordination team, and in
2006 I was appointed lead coordinator.
Since 2004, I have been co moderating with Teresa Almeida d´Eça the EVO Becoming a Webhead (BaW) online Workshop.
In 2004, Teresa and I started co-facilitating the online course “Teaching Vocabulary and Grammar Online”, for the TESOL “Principles and Practices of Online Teaching Certificate Program
Apart from this, I also teach online courses for different organizations worldwide, present f2f and online and write articles related to e-learning.
I am part of the board and a founding member of AVEALMEC
My latest adventure is Second Life where I am teaching Spanish and training teachers to teach in this environment
