A note from the Lieutenant Governor...

Hey, Robots! 4

This is your Lieutenant Governor, Cecilia Li! I hope that all of you are enjoying your summer! Remember to keep your spirit and service as consistent as possible. I understand it is difficult given the lack of regular meetings, but I highly encourage you attend the monthly Division Council Meetings and/or division-wide fundraisers and socials. It is a great opportunity to meet new people and develop bonds outside of your home club! The first quarter of this term is already nearing the end! I can’t believe how fast it’s gone by. I look forward to the rest of this exciting year with all of Division 31’s beautiful Robots with Hearts. We are programmed to serve, it’s our natural instinct. We serve because we have a passion for it in our hearts. I can’t stress enough how honored and proud to be serving all of you as a fellow robot.

Recognition: May & June June Member and Club of the Month| May Club Reports

Although every single member that serves Division 31 is absolutely amazing, there can only be one Member of the Month, and only one Officer of the Month. As a member, there are many things you can do to get recognized. Send in articles and visuals, attend the monthly DCM’s (Kiwanis has them, too! Officers can send Cecilia invitations to their events as well as organize their own. Next month, this could be you!

West Hills High School Club Snapshot - May Written by: Club Secretary Missy Mongiovi At the beginning of the month several of our members participated in the Miracle Mile of Quarters at Rady Children's Hospital. Our design was Winnie the Pooh holding the Rady Children's Hospital kite. We had a wonderful time making our creation and we were also able to tour the hospital. The new building there is beautiful and the different levels are full of children's artwork. We thought it would be a great idea to paint pictures for the building so hopefully we can do that soon! This month we also sold snow cones at the Mission Trails Fair to raise money for the park.

Helix High School Club Snapshot - May Written by: Club Secretary Alicia Lin This month members helped promote the club to incoming freshmen and offered service to the community. This month members were offered many opportunities to volunteer and help the community. This month we participated in the Miracle Mile of Quarters. Although few members went, they played a huge role in representing the club. At spring fling and student appreciation day, members who showed up to help the board members received hours for their hard work. At spring fling, key club set up a booth and some people walked around holding posters promoting Key Club to the incoming freshman. There were about 100 freshman that were interested in Key Club and signed up to be notified when the first meeting was for the coming year. Also, some members volunteered at the car wash with the Granite Hills key club. There, the members washed cars to help promote eliminate; we raised roughly enough money to full vaccinate 40 women. Also, members participated at the Patriot's Run; at this event members helped pass out flags to the finishers of this race, as well as direct the runners to help them stay on the right course. This month there were many opportunities offered for members to volunteer and we have many events planned the following month to encourage participation and to keep the members involved even throughout the summer. 9

Joint Eliminate Car Wash Fundraiser with Granite Hills: “Attending the car wash was a great experience for myself to meet other key club members to work together and interact with them. It was really fun washing the cars and making posters.” - Hannah Le

Lakeshore Patriot 10k/5k Run-Walk: Lake Murray: "Volunteering at the Patriots Run with Key Club was a great way for members to show their support for the runners. Overall, it was fun for all of us and it was definitely an event that I would look forward to volunteering for again." - Ryan Chau 12

Joint Eliminate Car Wash Fundraiser with Granite Hills: "The Eliminate Carwash Fundraiser was a big success. It started out slow so our advisor wanted up to pack up and leave early, but all of the members were Extremely persistent and wanted to stay just a bit longer. Thankfully, she agreed to stay and within 5 minutes we had our first customer. Overall, we raised enough money to fully vaccinate close to 40 women. I had so much fun that I am already putting together another car wash event!" - Tony Murillo

C LOSING M ESSAGE All in all, I hope all of you lovely Robots with Hearts enjoy your break off from the stress of school. Please remember to keep up with Key Club, since more free time means more service! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about anything at all, please do not hesitate to contact me right away. I will not be travelling outside of the country this summer, so I will have access to all forms of communication. As the first quarter of term comes to an end, I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for helping Division 31 become what it is today. I couldn’t have done anything at all without the loving support of all you Robots with Hearts with me the entire way. This year is going to be a blast: Region Training Conference, Fall Rally South, District Convention‌ I know that the only direction for Division 31 is forward from here on out. With your support, we can bring even more to our community. Here we go.
