Finance minister outlines R800 billion economic support package STAFF WRITER ILISO LABANTU Government has set aside more than R800 billion to deal with the economic challenges facing the country due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

“Working under the leadership of our President, we calibrated a fiscal package of approximately R500 billion,” said finance minister Tito Mboweni.

Reserve Bank Governor Lesetja Kganyago has already unveiled a monetary and policy package which brings the total economy wide measures to over R800 billion, said Mboweni.

“This is a major fiscal and monetary policy response,” he said.

The response will focus on high-level fiscal and monetary variables and the people, particularly the poor, the infirm and the vulnerable.

“It must also be about the businesses – large and small – that drive our

economy, and create work for our people,” Mboweni said, adding it was necessary to ensure money continues to flow through the veins of the economy.

The focus is on using the fiscal and monetary policy to deliver an immediat, targeted and clear response.

“Wisely used together, these key levers can deliver a countercyclical boost directly into the heart of the economy.”

Teams from the National Treasury and South African Reserve Bank recently worked together on a response to the economic crisis, said the minister. The key point of discussion was to appropriately calibrate the fiscal and monetary policy interventions, and provide appropriate advice.

efforts to bolster health services. Under the second part of the package, the government will substantially increase the social security net. R50 billion will be channelled towards relieving the plight of those who are most desperately affected by the novel coronavirus. Child support grant beneficiaries will receive an extra R300 in May. From June to October, caregivers will receive

an additional R500 each month. All other grants will be topped by R250 per month for the next six months.

Ramaphosa said in addition, a special Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress grant of R350 a month for the next six months will be paid to individuals who are currently unemployed and do not receive any other form of social grant or UIF payment.

Mboweni said the

The government’s message has been consistent, reliable and backed by scientific evidence that is widely considered the world over.

Change is not easy. But for the sake of our own lives and those around us we should do as we’re told by our leaders: social distance, stay home, cough onto our bent elbow, using masks and other preventive measures. Economic recovery The economic effects of the Coronavirus are huge. The numbers are unprecedented and equivalent to an economic meltdown of a country in a time of war. We’re in a war of a different kind and it requires all of us to work together with our government, to turn it around, and at the same time put those around us first, and later to navigate all health protocols to try to make a living. It’s definitely going to be business unusual going forward.

Both business and communities will have to work together to achieve economic recovery. There will be casualties in the process, but if we all do our part, we can save as many lives and businesses as possible.

True. There’s some truth to this assertion but not all of the time, as the great British leader once said, “ask not what the country is doing for you, but what you are doing for your country”. To me, these words mean before I can blame anyone else, I must ask myself questions as to what do I do that contributes to the state of my life.

Laziness can easily make us blame others for our own failures of not getting up and doing something about our lives. And we blame government, family members, friends, backgrounds, etc. There’s no harm in trying, try and fail, but don’t fail to try.

Our government and leaders have proven to us that it is possible if we work together and now it is up to us to do our bit in our little corners to better ourselves, and those around us.

Virus takes a toll on essential workers’ mental health > FROM PAGE 1 Iliso Labantu News has been informed by the Checkers Group that infected workers are in quarantine at hotels on the West Coast.

When the first Covid-19 case was detected at the Checkers supermarket, several employees some of whom use public transport from Atlantis and nearby Dunoon – were concerned that continuing to report to work could put their own health at risk.

On Thursday 23 April, Checkers Table View shut its doors for the second time following another positive Covid-19 test.

Further employee screenings were taking place and a professional decontamination company was brought in to sanitize and deep clean the store for a second time.

The store was initially closed on Tuesday 14 April after the first Covid-19 case was detected, and was reopened on Thursday 16 April following consultation with the Department of Health, stated the retailer’s media team on Friday 24 April.

Several Checkers employees who asked that their identities be protected, said they feared for their own health.

A vigil was held inside the supermarket on Thursday 23 April in commemoration of two employees who died after contracting Covid-19.

With several of their colleagues testing positive for Covid-19, the Checkers workers have been dealing with stress and anxiety in the absence of psychological support from their employer.

One worker who lives in squalid conditions in an overcrowded informal settlement in Dunoon had to go to self-test at the City-run Brooklyn Clinic on 17 April. Her results came back positive on Monday 20 April. She was not quarantined and with no other option, continued to share her bed with her boyfriend.

She was only quarantined on Friday 24 April after Iliso Labantu and Dunoon ward council-

lor Lubabalo Makeleni intervened and called the national Covid-19 national number, who advised that the police should be informed.

She said her employer hadn’t contacted her and he had been left to fend for herself and the City of Cape Town number 021 814 1000 called her telling her to eat garlic and lemons alongside a well-balanced diet, and to self-isolate.

But self-isolation in her shack in the Bekhela informal settlement was impossible. Water needed to be collected from a communal standpipe and she had to use communal toilets.

However, when Iliso Labantu contacted her on Friday24 April she confirmed she was in quarantine at a hotel on the West Coast. She said her boyfriend was still in the

township and had been advised to go get tested.

“We (employees) have requested that our employer help us deal with the psychological impact of it all, but with no success. I realise that this is uncharted territory for everyone, but feel that the stores could be doing more to help us cope with it all, especially since we are in the direct line of fire. Government should also have considered online shopping and delivery services right from the beginning. That would have curbed the spread much more effectively,” said an employee who lives in Atlantis and commutes to and from work on the MyCiTi bus.

He believes they are working in conditions that are unsafe and also fears that if they are infected with the virus, they could be transmitting it

unknowingly to other passengers using public transport, to other essential workers, and their own families.

He said Checkers supermarket at Bayside allowed more customers into the shop than stipulated by Covid-19 regulations.

“What concerned me the most was that families would visit our store with their children, and that many elderly customers would make small talk with the staff. We understand and appreciate that they mean well, as they were sharing their own fears with us, but little do they realise they could be increasing the spread of disease,” he said.

He saids many customers did not wear face masks and their employer had only provided workers with masks from 20 April.

Another essential worker from Atlantis said after the supermarket’s initial closure, many essential workers felt unsafe.

“We were told it was a case of ‘no work, no pay’ and felt we were being forced to work. It was a scary experience and even now, I still remain fearful,” she said.

She said the company did not make provision for danger pay. Instead, staff were given shopping vouchers to be spent within the store.

“The system has failed us, and our store has not done enough to protect us. Each person should have been provided with gloves and masks as soon as we entered the premises each day. And there should have been more social distancing between passengers on the bus,” she said.

Detailed questions seeking comment on staff protocol at the Bayside mall supermarket were sent to the retailer. A general statement was provided by Shoprite Group, which owns Checkers, but did not disclose how many workers had been tested or quarantined after contracting Covid-19.

Shoprite Group media claimed the health and well-being of “employees, customers and communities remains of paramount importance”.

“Losing one of our own always touches us and it is with great sadness that we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the families and co-workers of any employee who passed away,” the group said, while avoiding answering specific questions.

Shoprite Group stated since the start of the Coronavirus outbreak it has proactively acted to safeguard employees and

customers.

“Various measures have been put in place including daily temperature testing when employees arrive at work; mobile clinics have been dispatched for referrals; plastic face shields rolled out to employees; and stringent hygiene and sanitising protocols remain in place across all our operations.”

Shoprite Group stated workers with high temperatures visit the Group’s mobile clinics for a consultation and, if necessary, are referred for further testing at the nearest approved testing laboratory as per guiding protocol, results are shared with the relevant healthcare provider and all positive cases are elevated to the NICD and Department of Health for further action.

“Employees of merchandising, security and cleaning companies also undergo temperature scanning. Employees’ face shields are sanitised on the hour and at all till points staff also sanitise till surfaces, including pin pads, and their own hands,” the media release stated.

It stated if any workers tested positive for Covid-19 at any of the Shoprite Group stores, the store would be closed immediately and the NICD and the Department of Health informed, and a professional decontamination company brought in to sanitize and deep clean the store, which would be reopened in consultation with the Provincial Department of Health.

Three Cape Town Shoprite Group stores have been closed due to positive Covid-19 cases.

These are Checkers Table View, Checkers Durbanville, and Shoprite Athlone.

“We appeal to customers who have any health concerns to please contact the NICD helpline or the government hotline (111) for guidance on any nec-

essary steps to be taken,” stated Shoprite Group.

Western Cape Premier Alan Winde’s spokesperson, Bianca Capazorio, said in the interests of patient confidentiality, the premier’s office and the provincial department of health is unable to comment on the specifics of individual cases.

“All of these steps were immediately taken in the Bayside Mall case.

As supermarkets are still one of the places where people are still able to congregate, we have seen multiple infections in this regard in recent weeks.

The Western Cape Government has held engagements with the retail sector in order to ensure that retail staff and customers are protected,” said Capazorio.

She said the Western Cape Government advises that people leaving their homes (in line with lockdown regulations) to go to the supermarket or using public transport, take all the appropriate measures to protect themselves: these include hand washing, ensuring that they keep a distance of 1.5 metres between themselves and any other person, coughing into a tissue or the crook of their arm, not touching their faces and wearing a clean, cloth mask.

Commenting on the first closure of the Checkers Bayside, City mayco member for community services and health Dr Zahid Badroodien said two staff members tested positive for Covid-19 after which each staff member was screened for Covid symptoms and proximity of contact.

“Staff who were symptomatic or in close contact were sent for testing at local sites and advised to isolate for 14 days. City Health will follow up with the staff members who were advised to go into self-isolation,” said Badroodien.

With vulnerable residents desperate for basic food during the Covid-19 lockdown, one local businessman in Dunoon took it upon himself to feed over 100 vulnerable families, including pensioners.

Dunoon’s businessman George Tshabalala, fondly known in the township as ‘bra George’, together with his wife Yoliswa has donated food parcels to the elderly and most vulnerably families in Dunoon.

“We saw the need to help the most needy. People came to ask us. They are desperate and they need food,” said Yoliswa.

She said some of the

vulnerable families that received food parcels had first approached their local church pastor but the pastor told them the churches are closed and there is no money coming, so they turned to bra George’ for help.

“They came to ask for food and we listened,” she said.

She said some of the food parcel beneficiaries eked out a living from scavenging and salvaging scrap metal which they sold to the scrapyard, but now with the lockdown in place they were unable to roam for scrap metal.

Koeberg Nuclear Power Station COVID-19 response Koeberg Nuclear Power Station, like any essential services, is minimally impacted by the COVID-19 lockdown. Although the plant is in operation, it is doing so with a reduced staff compliment on site as a result of some of the measures taken to minimise staff exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Below is a summary of Koeberg Nuclear Power Station’s emergency preparedness measures in place during the current COVID-19 lockdown.

Koeberg Unit 1 is operating safely and at full capacity, and will continue to operate as normal, providing the needed stability to the Western Cape electricity grid, reducing the load losses on the transmission lines, and providing low cost, carbon-free electricity into the national electricity grid.

Koeberg Unit 2 has been placed in what is called cold reserve, ready to feed into the national electricity grid, if required. This is possible because of the drop in demand for electricity due to the COVID-19 lockdown that has resulted in the temporary closure of many factories and businesses. This has allowed the station to perform some maintenance that would otherwise have been done in the upcoming scheduled refuelling outage. Note that the outage, which was due to commence in April 2020, has been postponed due to the international COVID-19 travel ban that would affect the human and equipment resources required for the outage to take place.

The Koeberg Nuclear Emergency Plan National legislation (NNR Act of 1999) requires Koeberg Nuclear Power Station to have an established emergency plan to protect the public in the unlikely event of a nuclear accident. The Act also requires that the effectiveness of the Integrated Koeberg Nuclear Emergency Plan be tested by the National Nuclear Regulator (NNR) every two years.

In order to ensure that the Koeberg Emergency Response Organisation is prepared for any emergency at any time, the power station’s Emergency Management Group regularly tests the readiness of the various key role players, including local and national Disaster Management organisations. This is in addition to the aforementioned National Nuclear Regulator (NNR) Exercises. During these exercises Koeberg Nuclear Power Station – and any other organisation involved in a particular exercise - is required to demonstrate its emergency response capabilities.

Koeberg emergency preparedness The Eskom emergency response organisation remains on standby during the COVID-19 national lockdown, and is available around the clock to handle any emergency at Koeberg Nuclear Power Station. All aspects of the Integrated Koeberg Nuclear Emergency Plan (IKNEP) such as prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigations are regularly reviewed and tested – even now during the lockdown. We are working closely with our key stakeholders and role players in the IKNEP Plan - one of these key stakeholders being the City of Cape Town Disaster Risk Management Department; we have determined (and have been given the assurance by the City) that the Emergency Plan, in terms of preparedness and response, is robust, adequate and still valid to deal with any nuclear event at the station even under the current COVID 19 lockdown regulations.

In a nuclear emergency, the necessary actions to protect the members of the public, such as sheltering and evacuation, are considered essential and the affected members of the public will be allowed to take these actions under the COVID-19 regulations. Sheltering requires that people stay indoors to minimise the exposure to airborne radioactive material in a severe nuclear emergency. The national lockdown, instituted by government to curb the spread of COVID-19, supports sheltering because people are already required to stay at home/indoors for all but essential activities.

In the extremely unlikely event that evacuation is required, the primary means of evacuation will be personal vehicles, and public transport will be provided with the necessary safety measures implemented.

It is with confidence that we can thus confirm that the Koeberg Emergency Plan, is thorough and robust enough to deal with any nuclear event at the station - even under the current COVID-19 lockdown regulations.

She normally braais them outside her shack in Mnandi Avenue, and when the Covid-19 regulations were relaxed to allow vendors and spaza shop owners to trade after obtaining a permit,

Together with his friends, hey distributed several trays of eggs containing 30 eggs per tray, and packets of rice.

“Since the lockdown we saw the need to donate to the vulnerable residents. The queues at Shoprite are just shocking. That’s where people can contract the coronavirus. So we thought of donating food at their door step,” said Vido.

Food beneficiary Mateboho Mofabatha, 42, an unemployed mother of three children, said she was grateful for the donation of food.

“I am so grateful. He has really helped us,”said Mofabatha.

Another unemployed mother in the same street, Khululwa Siyitula, also received the rice and tray of eggs.

“I am really thankful,” she said.

Ndamane rushed to apply for her permit, which was granted.

But she says she was disappointed that the permit does not allow cooked food.

She does it anyway, she says, as her customers don’t like to buy uncooked chicken feet.

She said most of customers bought a minimum of two to three chicken feet for R1 each.

With only a few on the fire, she is able to scoop them up and hide them if a patrol vehicle approaches, but this meant it was difficult to generate the profits she needed to feed her children and grandchildren.

The lockdown was also affecting her health as she is a diabetic and the lack of profit meant she is unable to maintain a healthy diet.

Somali and Ethiopian spaza shop owners feed 400 vulnerable families during Covid-19 PETER LUHANGA ILISO LABANTU Some Somali and Ethiopian spaza shop owners in Dunoon have clubbed up together to raise several thousands of rands for basic food items to feed the elderly and vulnerable residents who have no means to provide for themselves during the lockdown.

After the lockdown began on 27 March, Ethiopian Spaza shop owner Desta Zewada, 31, said several vulnerable residents and the elderly started coming to the shops asking to buy basic items on credit.

Zewada, who migrated from Ethiopia to Cape Town in 2011 due to political tension in his country, said they provided

basic food items on credit but after discussion with fellow Ethiopians and Somali spaza shop owners they agreed to club together and each donate R500 to feed the most vulnerable in Dunoon.

They managed to collected R53 000 from 106 local spazas, which they used to buy basic food items which they delivered to the doors of the most impoverished Dunoon residents.

“We are not doing this to show off. We want other Somali and Ethiopian spaza shop owners in other townships to emulate and feed the most vulnerable in their communities during this most difficult time,” said

Zewada.

There are 60 Ethiopian spaza shops and 46 Somali-owned shops.

“We are donating the food from deep down in our hearts because we know people are suffering during this time. We are all human beings, we must stand together,” he said.

Ward councillor Lubabalo Makeleni said the kind gesture from the Somalians and Ethiopians is an example of ubuntu.

“We always come together in time of need.

What is nice about this is that we didn’t approach them, they approached us telling us their intentions to donate food. We supported them 100%. The

only thing that bothers me as a councillor is that not every person will benefit from the food donation,” said Makeleni.

He said the basic food items were enough to feed 400 families and the Dunoon neighbourhood watch verified the names of the food beneficiaries.

“We are dealing with informal settlements.

Every informal settlement has been allocated 14 food hampers,” he said.

More is coming from Sassa as per Covid-19 food relief measures announced by the President.

The food parcels provided by the spaza shop owners contained mealie meal, flour, sugar, powdered milk, and tea bags.

Workers accuse refinery contractor of underpayment PETER LUHANGA ILISO LABANTU Astron Energy refinery contractor Tsebo Solutions Group, which is contracted to work during the annual scheduled shut down, has been accused of underpaying workers it has hired from neighbouring Dunoon township.

Formerly Chevron, the Astron Energy refinery shuts down every year between February and March for routine cleaning, maintenance and repairs. During this period hundreds of people from neighbouring communities, including Dunoon, are employed through the refinery’s contractors.

Dunoon resident Thobela Nkoane started working for Tsebo Solutions Group on 16 February and was sent home on 25 March just before the national Covid-19 lockdown.

Nkoane says his hourly rate was R22 per hour and he worked from 6pm to 6am. He says his first wages, which he received in March, were not paid in full.

“There was no night

allowance, even though I worked full hours. The hours captured did not reflect the total hours worked on the payslip,” said Nkoane.

He says when he brought this to the company’s attention, he was informed that he would be paid in full in the next payment circle but when payment was made he was again underpaid.

After complaining he was informed he would get paid on 9 April, but never received his wages.

He says when he contacted his line manager via a workers’ WhatsApp group, his manager blocked him.

Nkoane said due to the underpayment he was struggling to buy sufficient food to last the lockdown period.

Dunoon resident Ncumisa Daweti says she was employed as a cashier, cook and cleaner and also worked nightshifts from 6pm until 6am.

Daweti says Tsebo Solutions Group owes her up to R9,000 in wages for all hours she worked.

“We were even promised to get paid even the hour for our lunch break.

This never happened. I too complained to the

contractor but all my efforts have been in vain to this date,” said Daweti.

Her hourly rate was R30.77.

Neliswa Gonna, 31, also a Dunoon resident and mother of three children, says she started working for Tsebo Solutions on 16 February at a rate of R22 per hour.

She says even though she worked all her shift hours, her wages did not reflect the hours worked and they kept decreasing every payment run.

She says according to her calculations the contractor owes her 6 000.

“My children are lacking basic needs as I am unable to buy essentials during the lockdown” she said.

Astron Energy spokesperson Suzanne Pullinger confirmed Tsebo Solutions is contracted to provide services to the refinery.

“We are in the process of investigating the circumstances around these incidents. We have further engaged Tsebo senior management who have assured us that they will investigate and are committed to responding to Isolabantu [News]

Authorities are clubbing together to build what were previously referred to as Temporary Residential Units, but are now called Transitional Residential Units (TRUs).

Marcellino Martin, spokesperson for Western Cape Provincial Minister of Human Settlements Tertius Simmers, said the move was “quite significant”. Beneficiaries in the Dunoon and Greater

Kosovo informal settlements, identified on the City of Cape Town Housing Demand Database, would not return to their current homes after being relocated, said Martin.

He said the project was already in the pipeline for implementation, but the Covid-19 pandemic and the request from the Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation Lindiwe Sisulu to re-block the overcrowded area necessitated that the upgrading process be immediately accelerated “to combat the spread of the virus”.

Martin and the City of Cape Town had previously not responded when GroundUp asked where exactly Dunoon residents would be relocated.

Martin said community leaders would be told which criteria would be used to identify the beneficiaries for the Rapid Informal Settlement Support and Upgrade Programme (RISSUP). The most vulnerable, which includes the elderly, disabled and backyard dwellers, would be prioritised, he said.

“We’re considering building three-storey Temporary Residential Units in the respective Temporary Residential Area (TRAs). This will consist of 1,500 for Dunoon and 2,000 for the Greater Kosovo,” said Martin.

Lack of planning dashes Witsand hopes for SASSA pay point DAVID ROUSSOW Witsand residents’s hopes of having access to a clinic and Social Security Agency (SASSA) pay point in the township have been dashed due to rezoning and building plans for conversion of an existing building not being approved by the subcouncil.

It was agreed at a community meeting with authorities on 23 August 2018 that the building specifications would be finalised and forwarded to the contractor, Mkhulu Electrical, for necessary upgrades. It was also agreed that the rezoning of the area would be reviewed as it was zoned as agricultural land.

According to the minutes of the meeting, the facility’s operating budget would be submitted for approval during the adjustment budget period in January 2019. It was decided that the City’s parks and recreation department would be responsible for management and maintenance after renovation of what used to be a car wash, was completed.

But as construction neared completion in August last year with handover planned for October, the City discovered infrastructural noncompliance and brought it to a halt.

The facility was locked up and no explanation was provided to the community.

PR councillor Nolefe Mbombo said she had intervened to meet the City and find a solution to address the halted project as residents are desperate for a SASSA pay point in their vicinity.

Residents confirmed they were informed of the City’s decision to halt the completion of the facility as the building plans were not approved and the land was not rezoned.

Mbombo said residents requested to meet the City officials responsible for approving rezoning and building plans, in order to find a solution for completing the facility. Residents were willing to contribute money from their own pockets to fund its completion.

City mayco member for community services and health, Zahid Badroodien, said the development was undertaken by a company as part of their corporate social responsibility, but without approval from the subcouncil.

Badroodien said construction of infrastructure was given a green light during former executive mayor Patricia de Lille’s tenure, but was done without the correct rezoning in place.

“The developer has ceased the construction of the facility because the plans and rezoning was not approved, and the land is currently zoned for housing development,” said Badroodien.

Volunteers boost City’s Covid-19 response Members of 43 accredited neighbourhood watches around the city have signed up as Disaster Risk Management volunteers to support the City’s Covid-19 response.

The City of Cape Town started utilising the services of some of its newest Disaster Risk Management volunteers recruited from neighbour-

hood watch memberships this month.

In terms of the National Disaster Act, neighbourhood watches cannot perform their mandated duties in their communities, leading the City to offer willing members of accredited neighbourhood watches to join the ranks of the Disaster Risk Management Centre (DRMC) volunteers instead.

“Many of our neighbourhood watches are well-organised and know the lay of the

land in their local communities,” said safety and security mayco member JP Smith.

Allowing accredited neighbourhood watch members to do duty as DRM volunteers “definitely increases our capacity where it is most needed, but it will also reassure communities who are being assisted by people they know or are familiar with”, said Smith.

The DRMC volunteers are assisting with the promotion of social distancing at

certain facilities like shopping centres and community testing sites, assisting with loud-hailing in communities as part of ongoing education and awareness initiatives, as well as logistics like collection and delivery of goods for the Disaster Risk Management Centre.

Currently, there are 43 neighbourhood watches across the metropole that have members assisting as DRM volunteers, providing an extra 400 pairs of hands.

Covid-19 lockdown delays 2020 football season in Dunoon

Covid-19 infections in the Westen Cape are rising steadily and affecting the beginning of the much anticipated 2020 football season, says Dunoon Local Football Association president Amos Siwayi.

“Yes it is a fact that we will be forfeiting half of the football season of 2020, that’s why the DLFA will look into possibilities to improve the football level. We already postponed some of our preseason tournaments, as we are aware that football will face a difficult time in

2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Siwayi.

“We received a couple of invitations from new clubs to join the DLFA this year, which tells me that we are on the right track of football development,” he said.

One of the major impacts the Covid-19 pandemic may have on youth football in the region is the postponement of the regional activities such as the Basil Palayandi Inter LFA Championship competition, and schools football. These competitions

stimulated competitive football between the players of various LFA’s and schools in the regions. The games also create social cohesion and brought communities together.

The Coca Cola Cup is the most exciting football competition in the Cape Town region and is seen to be one of the best development competitions.

Siwayi said the DLFA players will traveling to various parts of the peninsula, such as Rocklands, Houtbay, the northern suburbs and to Atlantis on the west coast.

“The new kids on the block, the u-12 Chilli Boys team, had a very good season in 2019 and showed great character as newcomers to the league. too big an impact on their progression.

With the upgrading of the sports field surface, he hopes it will improve competition between the teams and the new grass will hold through the offseason.

Only lockdown restrictions will determine when the season will begin again.

With nine qualified D licence coaches ready to develop their teams, Siwayi hopes more coaches

will apply for coaching courses in 2020.

“We aim to have at least two D- licensed coaches per club,” said Siwayi. “We hope this will help to improve our progress in the Coke and inter-LFA games.”

“The Dunoon LFA fully supports the call by the South African government, our national and regional office SAFA, and all its responsible organisations and ask all football players and individuals to abide by the lockdown regulations and restrictions and to stay at home.”
