Mashaba: We Selected Players on form

afana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba told the Siya crew that he knows that many people had their own ideas of who should have been in the Afcon squad, but that they had their own criteria which they used to select the players, Soccer-Laduma reported.
The Bafana boss revealed that they looked at which players were on form no matter which team they were coming from while he said they also looked at the Vision for 2022 that SAFA had to select the right players. “You know everyone had their own team that they would want to play but as a technical team we looked at the players we wanted and those are the players we selected,” Mashaba said. “We had players who are making their debut and Afcon. We had players who have been in and out of the national team and we had seasoned players with a good number of caps. “We had a great mixture and it is really working for us. So we find no regret in our player selection at all,” Mashaba concluded. -- Soccer-Laduma
