CI-Book® is an internet based platform for your business to business or business to customer communication and personal, corporate identity (CI) and corporate design (CD) conform configuration of marketing materials. If corporate design and corporate identity are of particular interest, but individualization of specific contents is wanted at different places, CI-Book® is the perfect solutiong.

CI-Book® allows you to edit graphical documents in a comfortable WYSIWYG view (What You See Is What You Get) over the internet under strict compliance to CI and CD. You just need an up-to-date web browser. It is not necessary to circumstantially install additional software. It is possible to connect CI-Book® to image or article databases. Readymade content elements can easily be placed in a predefined grid in the brochure via drag & drop. Images and other contents can easily be changed and replaced by the user.

Technologically CI-Book® is based on the Adobe InDesign Server. This makes different functions, that are provided by InDesign, available in a web browser. As CI-Book® is also available as a ASP solution and has standard interfaces, it is assured that it can be integrated partial or as a whole into existing systems. So the integration of service providers involved (advertising agencies, creative agencies, producing companies such as print press and pre-press) into existing systems is given.

CI-Book® is a modular system. Any upgrading or adjustment to a companies CI is possible at any time. This includes customizing the user interface for target groups and the combination of different output data - according to the requirements of the producing service provider


Really easy: The CI-Book® workflow The advertising agency creates a template as a Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress document. This template can be resolved into it’s single building blocks whether by the customer or, as a service from d-serv SE GmbH, using the TemplateExtractor-Tool. These building blocks comply to the single elements of the template. This elements can be provided with editing rights such as “not editable”, “editable” or “replaceable”. When all rights are assigned, the template can be provided at the CI-Book® platform with one click where it is available for personalization by the user.

The individualization takes places in the online configurator. All editable elements can be edited in the so called WYSIWYG mode (What You See Is What You Get). All changes that are made are visible immediately. It is not necessary to open circumstantially sub-menus to control the changes. Additionally to the WYSIWYG mode you can open a PDF previewin contract-proof quality.

After having saved an edited document it is possible to start the order process and charge a print press directly from the platform. In many cases the producer can get his own access to the platform so he can download the ordered documents in the required format. It is always possible to incorporate authorization cycles or different editorial workflows to proof all individualized documents before printing.

The print press can display the current status of production or the date of delivery within it’s own access to CI-Book®, to inform the orderer about the status of his order at any time. After the execution of the order, the whole process is stored in the corresponding users archive.

The portal provides different information about current campaigns, new marketing materials and other relevant messages to the user. Each user can access, edit, let authorize, produce or archive marketing materials he or his group has created. The portal allows the complete management of marketing materials. Different statistic evaluations can be used centrally to get information about usage and individualization of the single marketing materials. CI-Book® has standard interfaces to other applications like image, article or user databases in a company. Corporate Identity and Corporate Design are maintained. The connection to a in-house print press results in cost savings, digital printing allows small print runs.

Benefits of the Template-Extractor-Tool The Template-Extractor-Tool allows to configure an open and flexible design template. This tool converts the template into a format that can be displayed and edited in the configurator and also supports the correct print output. A given grid can be edited according to corresponding rights. This means that almost every design and every constraint is possible. Existing templates can easily be modified at any time. The tool is intuitive and easy to use.

Benefits of the WYSIWYG configuration The user has not to have any designer knowledge, the application is easy to use and happens in the WYSIWYG mode which simplifies editing in a unique way. Long training periods and costly user trainings are history with CI-Book®. Each change is made directly in the document and not, as with other web-to-print solutions, in HTML forms that don’t allow an immediate optical check of the changes. The CI-Book ®user in contrast can check the current status exactly and in the precise layout.

The portal has a shop function that allows the user to order his individualized marketing materials. Different possibilities are offered depending on the marketing material. Marketing materials can be produced centrally or the user can request a high-resolution file for printing the document on his own via the platform. It is possible to define costs and print runs / minimum print runs for the single marketing materials. When having ordered the user automatically gets the corresponding confirmations and the production process is started. The archive allows the user to reorder previously ordered materials or to re-edit them. Over their producer access print presses can download ordered documents. If a order was placed, the print press is informed via e-mail. This access makes it possible to download and process high-resolution files that are generated automatically by the server.

The CIBook ® license model offers different options. Depending on your requirements you can choose between CI-Book® Standard, CI-Book® Professional and CI-Book® Enterprise. According to the specific requirements different compilations of modules and prices can result. The CI-Book® license model allows you to easily upgrade the application according to your requirements. If you start with CI-Book® Standard you can upgrade to the Professional version without additional effort. We would like to support you in the choice of the matching options with a counselling interview that is free of charge. CI-Book® Standard is designed for small companies that want to use the application solely and in-house. This version is only available as a ASP renting solution. The application is run as a shared-service on servers by d-serv SE GmbH. As ASP solution the CI-Book® technology is provided as a full-service package. You can use CI-Book® immediately and without additional personal. CI-Book® Professional is, like CI-Book® Standard, designed as a ASP renting solution but is endowed with more functions and integration options for professional use. The special requirements on functions, scalability and individuality are met withCI-Book® Enterprise. CI-Book® Enterprise contains all features of the Professional version and can be adjusted comprehensive to your specific requirements and wishes. This version is designed as a functional platform. The focus is on integrating the CI-Book® product line into the business processes of your company. The pricing begins with 3.000 EUR p.a. for a basis license.
