ick Jackson and a host of other riders hit the Spring Creek track for one last time this year, getting a jump on the 2011 Super Series as this race counted towards next year’s points. Jackson was looking strong on his new Suzuki ride which was a move up to the 450s, and he took both moto wins in the Open class over Joe Perron. Some of the other riders that had a special day included Jerry Robin, winner of two 85cc classes and Jesse Kasowicz romping to overall wins in +25B and +30B. Riders were glad to see the Spring Creek track in decent shape after devastating floods hit hard in the area just two weeks earlier. The nearby towns of Zumbro Falls and Hammond sustained heavy damage and the track fared better, but required a lot of repair work to bring things back to a usable state. The Martin’s house was spared fortunately and John

Joe Perron took a couple of hard earned second place finishes.

Martin and his crew fought

through a tough couple of weeks to put the track and grounds back in action. One of the things that was very noticeable for the race was the new, extremely loose and deep sand wash section resulting in some very tough to traverse whoops. Mike Riehm jumped out to an early lead in the first 250A moto with some pursuit by Brandon Stewart and Dylan Ziolkowski. Ziolkowski dropped back a few places on the second lap with Nathan Laporte pressuring and passing Bryce Craig and then Stewart to take over second before the halfway mark. Riehm maintained a fair margin over Laporte for the duration and took the win. Ziolkowski regained his composure after his early trouble and moved up to take third over Joe Perron who was closing at the flag. Fifth went to Craig. Moto two started out much better for Perron who swept into an early lead. Ziolkowski and Laporte started a duel over second which went on for the early

portion of the moto with Riehm closing in gradually on them. On the fourth lap there must have been some incident on the back section of the track as Riehm was in third right on Ziolkowski and Laporte had dropped back quite a bit. Riehm went to work on Ziolkowski and took him on the last lap for second. Stewart ran steady to take fourth with Tyler Duncan in fifth. Garrett Howard pulled a holeshot in the Open B class but was displaced by Zach Wallace before the end of lap one. Next to lead was Nick Carter who was there for about a lap until Derek Lilja managed to overtake him for command of the moto. Lilja was on a mission and pulled out a big gap over Carter to win by about 15 seconds at the checkered. Daniel Robin passed Nick Oeljen to moved into third at about the halfway point and took it on in for the rest of the race. Wallace ended up fourth with Howard in fifth. Wallace must have figured
