Failure Mode & Fault Tree Analysis This is a useful engineering technique to identify and eliminate known and potential problems of a system. A Fault Tree deals with probabilistic risk, reliability and availability problems. Life Data Analysis (Weibull Analysis), Root Cause Analysis & Parts Stress Analysis. Clients are assisted in measuring the life of equipment/ components, using probabilistic models that are based on statistical distributions, on Suspended, Right Censored and Left Censored Data. The HAZOP study is a detailed examination, by a group of specialists, of components within a system to determine what would happen if that component were to operate outside its normal design mode. The effects of such behavior is then assessed and noted down on study forms. The categories of information entered on these forms can vary from industry to industry and from company to company. Network Availability Program (NAP) The Network Availability Program (NAP)™ enables users to predict the availability and reliability of communication networks. The NAP network availability model utilises an extended Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) methodology that addresses the specific characteristics of network elements and their connections. In addition to predicting network availability, NAP also provides criticality rankings that identify weak spots in the network. 2. Risk and Criticality The PMO2000® Risk and Criticality Assessment Module analyses and documents the asset risks at failure mode, component or equipment level. The software can store Inherent and Residual risks as well as documenting the rationale for the calculations. The risk method can be chosen from standard frequency and consequence matrix, risk prioritization number or maintenance effectiveness index. Administrators can set up an infinite list of consequence categories and define all of the risk factors associated with them. The calculations of risk can be weighted at each consequence category or ensure relativity and pragmatic decision making. Equipment criticality levels created at component or failure mode level are automatically aggregated up the equipment hierarchy to ensure high risk systems are identified. The risk and criticality module is linked throughout the software for RCM, FMEA, PMO and Failure Recording and Corrective Action systems. 3. Asset Health Asset Health Assessment As the world moves from Condition Monitoring to Condition Management, the Asset Health module was developed to provide the tools for this wide reaching and often complex requirement. The module provides Asset Managers the capability in one system to visualise the current and historical condition of assets, assess risks, forecast maintenance and replacement costs and determine the effectiveness of the maintenance strategy, the plant performance and the effectiveness if planning This module is so attractive because condition data from all sources (oil samples, vibration analysis, corrosion and wall thickness etc etc) can be presented in the one system in the one screen. SOS is a unique methodology for spare parts inventory decision making: • Should we hold that spare at all? - and if so: • In what max/min quantity?

SOS does not rely upon the manipulation of movement or other history data. It will recommend EOQ based max/ min levels and provides a cost/risk module for expensive items. SOS approaches spares optimization from a maintenance engineering perspective as opposed to supply-based systems. SOS can operate standalone and thus can be applied to lists of new spares (Manufacturers Spares Lists) or target items like slow moving, high value items. It is also a sister methodology to RCM Turbo and so is capable of optimising spares identified through RCM Turbo as being required to support any new maintenance practices identified during the assessment. A criticality assessment of both the spare and its parent equipment, along with static details such as lead time and annual usage estimate, is the basis for SOS’s max/ min recommendations.

(Capital Allocation Selection Hierarchy) CASH is another expert methodology which assists maintenance engineering professionals to decide which project should be included in the annual capital budget. CASH allows the entry of the organisation’s business goals and plans and then asks a series of questions under each topic for any project under consideration. There are also questions about risk and return on investment. The outcome is a series of reports by overall ranking, Business Plan Fit, Risk/Reward and return on investment. Creating a level playing field for this annual process, CASH dramatically reduces the time spent by busy engineering professionals in deciding on projects that should be included in the annual plan.
