Georgia Holidays Annual Festival of Lights Parade in Douglas The Annual Festival of Lights Parade will be held in Douglas on Saturday, December 1, at 6:30pm. The theme for this year’s parade will be “Celebrate a Hometown Christmas.” One of the largest night-time parades in South Georgia, this event will feature over 100 entries and will be watched by over 25,000 spectators. Festivities will begin at 3:30pm in downtown Atkinson Plaza with Music on Main Street until 5:30pm. At 6:00pm, the 5K Run & Walk will begin along the parade route. The Annual Festival of Lights Parade will light up Peterson Avenue at 6:30pm and make its way from the Coffee County Courthouse to the Alternative Education Center. Douglas will also host other events during the Holiday Season beginning with Downtown Holiday Open House on Nov. 18 from 1pm-5pm; Santa Stroll on Dec. 8 from 1:30pm-5:30pm; and Christmas on the Pond at General Coffee State Park on Dec. 8 from 6pm-9pm.
