From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World: Let’s Challenge Militarism and End Violence Against Women! This year, the 16 Days Campaign seeks to highlight the connections between violence against women and militarism at all levels. Militarism is an ideology that creates a culture of fear and supports the use of violence, aggression, and/or military interventions for settling disputes and enforcing economic and political interests. It is a psychology that often has grave consequences for the safety and security of women and girls, and society as a whole. We, at the Center for Women’s Global Leadership, are committed to supporting coordinated, feminist actions against militarism and the violence it perpetuates, and we encourage you to connect with this year’s theme in ways that are most appropriate for your community. We look forward to standing together in solidarity as we:  Challenge militarism and end violence against women;  Strengthen women’s leadership to promote peace; and  Realize human rights for all to achieve human security.
