T h i s w a s a l o n g - t e rm p ro j e c t t h a t p ra c t i c e d basic design process. It began from [articulation], then turned the form into human scale [space], and finally turned the form into an [architecture]. 01

[Rules] 1.Develope the 2D plan with basic units : Square and Rectangle. Process : a.square and rectangle with same length connect by turns. b.rotate 45 degrees after a set of 1 square and 1 rectangle appeared. c.repeat until the 3 basic units connect. 2.2D to 3D (a)Erect 2D plan and make it as the section. (b)volumes (cubes and cuboids) grow by turns from plan and section, and stop when nearby volumes meet. Study Models 02

[Studio Transformation] Using movable wall make the studio can offer different purpose. Ex : working, discussing, critting or lecturing.

T his project is a combination of an architecture studio and architect's residence. The site is located in the edge between the residence area and a park with a lake. How to deal with the interface between urban and nature, work and family is the main issue. Through the design, I attemp to use landscape, height , solid and void spaces to deal with the interface.

Site Residence Area
Urban Student Housing is a project located in the edge between the residence area and a park. To accomodate hugh amounts students in a narrow site, but not make the building b e a h i g h bar r i c a d e t o t h e community is a challenge. I try to create a relationship amond the students, building, community, and the park , want to make the site be filled with activities.

Modern [Street Side Continuity] street house extend to connect nearby building
The site located in the old area of Tainan, connecting two opposite spaces - modern business area and old street with some workshops. I try to create connection of the two spaces. With open spaces and the elements of ally in the old city, wanting to make the foundation not only a gallery, but also a place and path connecting people from different parts of the city.

Site Residence Area
T he comunity center loacted in a park with lots of trees in the busy city center. I Hope the building will not affect the original e n v i ro n m e n t a n d k e e p t h e original space characters. Try to use the surplus spaces defined by trees to build the community center. With the dividing of trees, the park can be seperated into different areas to accomodate multi- actrivities. Hoping to reach the balance between the nature and architecture. 15

Christian Church located in a urban site in the old Tainan city center.To be a obvious building at the corner of busy streets, I attempt to make the church be a public space not a secret space with self activity. Appropriate public will make the religious space to be more friendly. Hoping to make te church not only a worship space but also a joint connecting people from different spaces and make different people meet together . 19

In the 2 weeks summer school, we explored the different parts of London. Basing on Dalston and Southbank, we tried to learned about the cultures and space characteristics, and differences- Dalston with lots of foreign cultures and lots of art studios bringing Dalston lots of vitality; Southbank with a long history and newly transformaion for the public environments with installation arts. We tried to reproduct the image of the 2 spaces by a interaction installation(mechanic elements and arduino) that could show the differences and the variation between the Dalston and Southbank.

2014 Student Summer Seminar / 2014 Instructor : Tu, Yi-Hsuan_Chien, Sheng-Fen
In the workshop, we tried to construct something interesting but possess reason structure. We had the prototype of a square, and then flipped it out with smaller square, trying to set a rule and make the flip-out step to letthe form be stable. With the instructors, we not only studied the structure behavior, but also the details of the joint. Finally we proposed a cube came out from the flipped square that could stand by itself. 24
