The production of the Styccobond Recommended Adhesives Guide is the result of a continual and close relationship between F. Ball and all the major floorcovering manufacturers. The ongoing process behind the Guide is managed by the company’s dedicated Liaison Manager. Each year all floorcovering manufacturers verify the existing adhesive recommendations for their products and are invited to submit new product samples for testing with F. Ball’s range of specialist adhesives.
Once approvals are received all floorcoverings and their adhesive recommendations - of which there are over 5,500 – are added to the guide listings. The RAG is also published as a live and interactive version on the F. Ball website where it is continually updated throughout the year, ensuring that the latest recommendations are available at the touch of a button! This process is a continuous cycle where all recommendations are then reviewed and updated. As a consequence, the RAG is widely renowned as the most comprehensive reference tool in the industry and with every listing annually approved by floorcovering manufacturers, it is the most trusted source available.

Where required, an adhesive may be specifically developed for a new floorcovering. All samples are tested at the company’s technical and development laboratories for adhesive compatibility, a process which can take around 12 – 14 weeks.

Regionally based Technical Representatives are located throughout the UK and Ireland, providing local, on-site support to flooring contractors. They are able to quickly and efficiently respond to any queries, and help contractors avoid lengthy delays to projects, by offering expert advice and product solutions.
The F. Ball Technical Service Department is one of the most experienced in the industry, providing advice and product recommendations on request. They annually receive over 12,000 enquiries by phone, fax or e-mail from contractors, wholesalers and specifiers alike.

CPD Seminars
The new F. Ball Training Centre represents a significant investment in a state-of-the art training facility, demonstrating the company’s commitment to raising standards within the flooring industry. Courses covering ‘Subfloor Preparation and Adhesive Selection’ are held throughout the year and are aimed at professional flooring contractors of all skill levels.
A CPD seminar for architects and specifiers on the subject of ‘Surface Preparation and Adhesive Selection’ is available on the F. Ball website. The tutorial can be completed section by section, allowing users to undertake the seminar at their own convenience. Upon successful completion users receive a certificate and can claim one hour’s CPD.
