October 5-7, 2012 (9am-12am): Oktoberfest on the River Live entertainment featuring a headliner and Oompah bands, German food, games, fun, regional arts and crafts, fireworks on the River Friday night at 9:30 p.m., wiener dog races Saturday at 10 a.m. in Morrell Park, and much, much more!
October 5-7, 2012: Eighth Annual Tybee Island Pirateâ€™s Fest Swashbucklers of all ages will be converging on Tybee Island to participate in the 8th Annual Tybee Island Pirate Fest! Featuring a Pirate Victory Parade, Live Entertainment, Costume Contests, Children's Activities and Thieves Market filled with treasures, grog and grub!
October 7, 2012: Picnic in the Park Presented by the City of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs, this event is one of Savannah's most beloved outdoor affairs! Pack your basket and enjoy a memorable afternoon with fine music, food and friends. Events are free and open to the public.
October 11-13,2012(11am-9pm): 61st Annual Savannah Greek Festival The annual festival will feature food specialties, dancing, church tours, market place, a live band and so much more during the three-day celebration of food, music and heritage at the Hellenic Center at 14 West Anderson Street. The festival will have free admission until 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday with a requested $2 donation after 4 p.m. There is also a requested $2 donation all day Saturday.
October 12-14,2012: 23rd Annual Savannah Folk Music Festival Presented by the Savannah Folk Music Society, the Savannah Folk Music Festival is a popular weekend festival devoted to the enjoyment, preservation and continuation of the living art of folk music. It features national and regional talent, as well as a youth songwriting competition. All events are free and open to the public. Times and locations vary. October 19-21, 2012: 14th Annual Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival Times: Friday 5-11pm, Saturday 10am-11pm & Sunday 11am-5pm Come and enjoy the southeast's largest seafood festival. There will be entertainment Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as arts and crafts vendors, delicious food vendors, carnival rides and more. There's something for everyone at the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival
October 25-November 4,2012: Coastal Empire Fair Times: Weekdays 5:30 p.m -10 p.m./ Saturday 11 a.m.- 10 p.m./ Sunday noon-9:30 p.m. This 11-day fair boasts exhibits, rides and entertainment. A non-profit organization, the Coastal Empire Fair is raising funds for the youth of this community.
