Formal and d Informal Sector S The inform mal sector plays p a mom mentous rolle in developing countries’ ecconomies inccluding Pakiistan. The role of o the inforrmal sector in solvingg the unemploym ment problem m of less devveloped counntries has becomee the focus of o a conceptuual and empiirical debate in reecent years. The T importannce of this sector necessitatess that it shhould be ussed as a policy instrument for the sollution of the most presssing

prob blems such as unemployyment, poveerty, incomee ineq qualities, etcc. The impoortance of the t informall secto or can be measured by its con ntribution too natio onal incom me and employmentt and itss conttribution to financial f creedit as comp pared to thatt of th he formal secctor. The informal seector generaates the high her level off emp ployment, 73..6 percent in 2012-13 as compared too form mal sectors, annd 26.4 perceent in the sam me period.
