Follow your heart to the perfect wedding destination: North Carolina’s Currituck Outer Banks.

A wedding ceremony is one of the most beautiful and important celebrations of our lives. It is a ceremony that deserves a memorable setting, and the Currituck Outer Banks offers the perfect surroundings for any style of wedding the bride and groom may have in mind. Whether the couple is seeking a traditional church wedding, a sunset or beach-side wedding, or even a simpler ceremony in a home setting, there is sure to be a perfect match on the Currituck Outer Banks.

The interdenominational Corolla Chapel has been a part of Outer Banks life since its founding in 1885. Still retaining much of its original look and feel, the church recalls a simpler time, and the parsonage is able to handle larger wedding parties.

One of the most spectacular settings on the Outer Banks is the timeless roaring 20s era Art Nouveau architectural masterpiece known as Whalehead in Historic Corolla. This storied house museum is located in the heart of Historic Corolla on 39 acres within Historic Corolla Park. Whalehead features beautifully manicured lawns, a historic wooden footbridge and a gazebo overlooking the Currituck Sound. The Currituck Beach Lighthouse also makes for a stunning backdrop, and, like Whalehead, features breathtaking views and an awe inspiring natural setting.
On the Currituck Mainland, views of the Currituck sound give way to glorious wide-open expanses, southern hospitality and rustic charm. The CCRC (Currituck County Rural Center) offers all this and more, as do several mainland golf clubs and vineyards located on or around the majestic Currituck Sound.
The Outer Banks Wedding Association Weekend Expo is held each year and features a variety of activities including:
• The Wedding Tour, a self-guided tour of many of the reception and ceremony sites available on the Outer Banks.
• A welcome reception and fashion show for brides and other attendees.

• Exhibits of over 200 Outer Banks wedding vendors available to help you plan your dream wedding.
For more information on The Outer Banks Wedding Association Expo, please visit obxwa.com.

Spectacular sunsets, pristine beaches, and majestic historical attractions provide unforgettable back-drops for a magical wedding ceremony. Before selecting the ideal location and vendors for your nuptials, consider the following when planning your wedding:

Schedule a pre-wedding trip to the Currituck Outer Banks to visit ceremony and reception sites. Reserve your chosen location as early as possible; many venues book up fast. Meet with local wedding vendors; these “experts” can help you navigate the wedding planning process. If you plan to hold your wedding outdoors, have an alternate plan ready.
Send “Save the Date” notices far in advance of your wedding. This will give your guests and family members time to make travel and lodging arrangements.
There are many experienced wedding professionals on the Outer Banks including caterers, florists, wedding cake designers, musicians, equipment rental companies and more. You can search for available vendors online at VisitCurrituck.com/weddings. With stunning natural beauty and a relaxed way of life, the Currituck Outer Banks is the perfect place to combine your destination wedding with a romantic honeymoon getaway. Let your imagination run wild, and enjoy planning your big day.

The sweeping, magnificent grounds of Historic Corolla Park and nostalgic streets of Corolla Village host some of the finest celebrations on the Eastern seaboard. In the park, thirty-nine acres of spacious waterfront lawn offers spectacular views of the Currituck Sound.

The park is a photographer’s dream location, with unforgettable sunsets and incredible natural beauty.
The Currituck Beach Lighthouse towers in the background, and Whalehead, a beautifully restored 1920’s era historic home, is a focal point in the park. The house, along with a historic footbridge and boathouse, provide a wonderful backdrop for both weddings and receptions.
