A Natural Cure for Hives First off, if your reading this article because your trying to find a way to relieve your hives or help someone who is struggling with it, you’ve come to the right place! I am not writing this to promote any kind of lotion, pill, or medication. I am simply writing out of my 3-year struggle with hives and my experience, in hopes of helping others who may be searching online for cures. My story began 3 years ago in the winter. I started getting itchy skin rashes and had no idea what they were, having never had hives, ever in my life! After using over the counter itch aids and prescription ointments, I began to realize that it was more than an insect bite. Although the topical aids helped for little while, it only provided momentary relief from the itching madness! The first year I struggled through not knowing what I was up against. So I went to see my family doctors who diagnosed it as eczema and/or stress. She also advised me to try and eliminate things from my diet and do meditation in hopes of determining which foods may be triggering the rash. I went to an allergy clinic to see if I can find out if I am allergic to anything that may be causing my condition. They performed an allergy test on me and determined I was not allergic to anything! Wow, back to square one. The allergy clinic also prescribe some anti-histamines for day and night to relief my itchy symptoms, as needed. I noticed after the winter season, the itchy skin went away as I approached the warmer spring weather. It returned the second year at the onset of winter. I found relief by some topical lotions and Claritin. The condition soon left me again as the warm weather set in.

This past winter was the start of my 3rd year of struggling with this horrible itch fest. Never underestimate being non-itchy! I took more of my prescription medication to relief my symptoms but also knew it was not the treating the root cause. I wondered if a low vitamin D count could be my issue since I was taking D supplements to raise my vitamin D count. After daily searches online for a remedy, I sought herbal remedies since I knew what the long term effects of prescription meds were. I also tried acupuncture to help cure the hives as well as drinking bitter chinese herbal teas. I can say with honesty, none of these helped me. I tried these faithfully for about a month but soon got discouraged to find that the hives were still with me. Finally, at the point of despair and thinking I was going to have to live with this for the rest of my life, this year, I reflected on the previous years and tried to approach it logically. I didn’t think it was my diet since I am pretty much a creature of habit when it comes to healthy foods. I do drink wine on occasion but even when I eliminated that, the hives were still persistent. I recalled, in my second year, I took a trip to Hawaii during the winter months and spent Christmas there. To my delight, I did not have an itch in sight when vacationing on the islands of paradise. So I began to think, why am I only getting these hives in the winter? Why did it stop when I went to Hawaii, which is a warm, tropical climate? Maybe in the winter, the air is drier or contains less moisture. I decided to try and simulate the tropical weather by purchasing a humidifier. Really, I was not hopeful that this would work as it

seemed so simple and for the past 2 years I was thinking that the cause was internal. Desperate for trying anything, I bought the best one reviewed from Target. LOW AND BEHOLD, it worked! It was the best $55 I spent! I used the humidifier in my home office and in the bedroom while I slept and never had an itch all day or night! Wow, how thankful I am to have found this and the answer was so simple. I am now itchfree! In my particular case, the hives were brought on by the winter season dry air. Once I humidified my home, my skin loved it. I know its not going to be this answer for everyone experiencing hives, but I urge you to try it and see if it works for you or even alleviates the scratchies. You do not have to be on prescription medications if you do not want to. Your the only one that knows your body. Although I am not against prescription meds, I also know the side and long terms affects associated with them. I also want to encourage you to not give up in searching for an answer or cure because it could be lurking right around the corner and if you quit looking, you may miss that wonderful opportunity to find the solution.
