Music, Art and STEM Academy Organised for the Holiday Activity Fund The Cultural Education Partnership Partners are delighted to be part of the Brighter Futures for Children Holiday Activities and Food scheme up to 2023 on behalf of Reading Borough Council, funded by the Department for Education. The HAF programme provides activities and lunch for children eligible for pupil premium free school meals across Reading with our HAF funded providers. The activity clubs are offered over Christmas, Easter and summer holidays and offer a range of energetic physical activities, exciting new experiences and delicious meals too! MUSIC CREATION - Compose and
produce music for a compilation album
Working with a music leader, you will spend the week learning how to compose and record original music using music software to create a compilation album. You will learn how to use a music Whitely software package, explore loops, samples and synths, record vocals Community and live instruments and mix your own original tracks. In addition Centre, Northumberland to this music-focused activity, you will also design a cover for the Avenue album and take part in a critical listening session to decide which tracks to include on the compilation and the order they should appear. At the end of the week, you will take away a digital copy of the album and art work to share with your family and friends. All equipment will be provided for these sessions and you don’t need any prior musical experience to be involved, just bring your enthusiasm and creativity and learn how to create your own original music. Please note: Participation for the whole week is preferred, although you can join in for individual days if you cannot make the full week.

Devise a music-focused vocal show Working with a music leader, you will spend the week putting together a music-focused vocal show. The music leader will work with you to choose the songs for a video-recorded performance at the end of the week. In addition to this music-focused activity, there will also be the opportunity to incorporate some dance/movement and acting content to the show, subject to the desire of the group. At the end of the week, you will take away a digital video of the performance to share with your family and friends. All equipment will be provided for these sessions and you don’t need any prior musical experience to be involved, just bring your enthusiasm and creativity and learn how to put together a show. RISC’s holiday club will have a range of activities based on the Global Education ethos of thinking globally & taking action locally. Participants can choose whichever activities they feel inspired to do throughout the day, with themed areas for construction, STEM challenges, rooftop gardening activities, climate action and art & crafts from around the world. Example activities include puppet & mask making , mini-beast hunts, making bug hotels, planting seeds, construction & craft activities using recycled materials, painting & printing for a purpose, board-games from around the world. We also have a story tent stocked with books for a quieter place to hide away.
