Oil and gas development projects are phenomenal for the amount of heavy industrial activity that they focus on a very limited working area and access roads constructed with earth materials. As illustrated on the rear cover of this stabilized drill pad case study, modern stabilization technology can make the difference between a safe, efficient working platform and a muddy nightmare that is neither an efficient working platform nor a safe work area. Pictured here is an oil drilling location with the EMC SQUARED Stabilization of the soil subgrade just completed, with the first loads of aggregate being delivered by bottom dump truck at the back end of the drilling location for what will be a stabilized aggregate working surface once the EMC SQUARED stabilizer treatment has been applied. Far Left - Disc mixing of stabilizer treatment Left - Vibratory compaction of stabilized soil subgrade

Pictured above is a stabilized drill pad site with equipment on site in anticipation of the arrival of an oil drilling rig. The stabilized subgrade and stabilized aggregate working surface provide a safe and efficient working platform Pictured at left is a standard EMC SQUARED stabilizer application, with the application of the EMC SQUARED stabilizer in the compaction water being applied to the imported aggregate surface course materials. The stabilizer treatment is then mixed with the aggregate by the tractor drawn disc and consolidated by vibratory compaction equipment.

Pictured above is the stabilized drill pad site with operating drill rig on location. Low cost stabilization treatment maximizes efficiency and reduces maintenance requirements.
