THE SCRUBBER MAKER PureteQ Exhaust Gas Cleaning is one of the most energy efficient scrubber systems in the market (lowest OPEX). Furthermore, it is the most reliable, safe and user-friendly scrubber system in the industry. When maintained in good operational condition, the PureteQ Scrubber System will serve you well throughout the lifetime of the ship. In case stricter legislative requirements should be implemented, our scrubber system is prepared for upgrades to meet even higher environmental standards. In order to safeguard continuous operation, reliability and MARPOL compliance, we encourage all shipowners to realise the full potential of their scrubber systems by entering into a PureteQ Service Agreement.
PURESERV PureServ is our certified service organization. They have received extensive training to assist shipowners in safeguarding continuous operation, reliability, and MARPOL compliance of their scrubber systems. This entails expert support on-site as well as online support and guidance for all Scrubber Systems. PureteQ offers a fair-priced Service Agreement designed to meet shipowner’s specific needs based on the ship’s operational pattern and qualification of crew. All clients with a PureteQ Service Agreement have a designated Service Engineer and according to agreement you will only pay for what you get. Due to our in-depth knowledge and expertise within Exhaust Gas Cleaning, we also provide service and support to other brands of scrubber systems. Please contact PureteQ for further information.
EXPERT SERVICE TEAM Dedicated and certified marine engineers and naval architects are at the core of our Service Team. You can reach us 24/7 for technical support and general service. Our Service Team is ready to support scrubber systems either on site or via the safe PureteQ remote system, depending on the ship’s conditions and the client’s requirements. Regardless of the geographical location of the ship, our Service Engineers can support your ship crew on-site. Our Service Engineers can quickly dispatch from Europe or Asia, ready to support the crew as well as conduct crew training. The PureteQ Service Engineer will assist the crew with regards to ship maintenance activities, calibration and validation of sensors as required.
We believe in the value of making good use of digitalization for our clients who require safe, reliable and fast support at a fair price. After all, remote support of the ship crew is both cheaper and faster than waiting for on-site service from a Service Engineer.
REMOTE ACCESS 24/7 PureteQ Scrubber Control System is at the forefront of the digitalization age and features full remote accessibility. The control system logs hundreds of datasets every second to ensure energy efficiency while minimizing the carbon footprint. Our windows-based Human Machine Interface (HMI) can be operated in manual mode or in fully automatic mode according to our client’s preferences and crew skills. Remote access allows our Service Engineers to perform system upgrades and data monitoring as well as assist your crew with online troubleshooting – effectively and cost efficient. Not only errors pertaining the scrubber system and the parts that PureteQ delivers but include the entire integration of the system. Remote access enables PureteQ Engineers to assist crews in trouble shooting and replacement of parts as well as data mining to predict the need for maintenance activity, thus reducing OPEX on the system. While the control system enables remote analysis and troubleshooting, our Service Engineers can support ship crews in operational tasks as well as locate errors that need to be rectified to ensure MARPOL compliance and system reliability. Today, our Service Engineers are supporting ship crews through remote access across the world with e.g. flag state reporting, maintenance, replacement of parts, analysis, and troubleshooting. We have proven the reliability and safety of conducting remote support to clients with reliable internet connections.
REPORTING Some shipowners prefer that PureteQ Service Engineers monitor the scrubber system and provide compliance and performance reporting, as well as online guidance to the crew. The open data protocols provide shipowners with easy integration of compliance and performance data into other digital systems aboard the ships as well as easy reporting, which saves manhours. In some instances, we assist in Flag State reporting and reporting to US Coast Guard. Soon, these features will be integrated in the control system to ease the work for the crew. In Q1 2020, we rolled out new improved software to all ships encompassing voyage mode for energy optimization as well as automated functionality on VGP compliance of wash water.
OPERATIONAL ADVICE Remote accessibility permits PureServ staff to perform system upgrades and assist the crew with online troubleshooting – and all of this at a very low cost without physical presence. The control system enables real-time remote analysis and troubleshooting. It is therefore possible for PureteQ Service Engineers to support ship crews in operational tasks as well as locating errors that need to be rectified to maintain MARPOL compliance.

THE SERVICE PROVIDER
TRAINING OF CREW Industry experience shows that a well-trained crew is of great importance for securing the highest uptime rates on scrubber systems. Therefore, initial training and refresher training of crew are included in a PureteQ Service Agreement. Most ships often replace crew members. Occasionally, there is not sufficient time during crew replacement to ensure an effective hand-over procedure. PureteQ believes that crews will receive the most efficient education in scrubber systems on board the actual ship. In those instances where it is not possible to perform training on board, PureteQ offers an on-line training package. It does however require good internet connection. Training in scrubber systems will include a basic knowledge of the entire scrubber system from sea chest to overboard pipes. The crew will learn;
• • • • •
where all the parts are placed and which parts need special attention when and how to maintain components when, where, and how to replace or repair parts how to navigate the scrubber control system how to perform operational analysis on the scrubber panel
When training is performed on board, the crew will learn by doing some of the most common activities, such as filter replacement, calibration of sensors etc.
Sea-trials of newly retrofitted scrubber systems have been accomplished with only crew and surveyor on-board. PureteQ Marine Engineers were granted remote access to analyze real-time data from the scrubber control system, advise crew and change settings as appropriate.
CERTIFIED CALIBRATION Some type approved components must be calibrated by a certified engineer to maintain MARPOL approval for the EGC System. The gas analyzer (CEMS System) must be calibrated once per year. PureServ Service Engineers hold the necessary certification and experience to calibrate the CEMS system at a favorable rate. A PureteQ Service Agreement entails that when PAH and turbidity sensors need calibration, it will be offered as a sensor replacement program through PureServ. The ship will receive a newly calibrated sensor before shipping the old sensor to PureServ. We may also assist clients in calibration of the components, which do not demand certified service. The PH sensor must be calibrated every 3 months. PureteQ has developed guidelines and video streams to ease the work for the crew. If necessary, further assistance may be requested from PureServ 24/7 Service Engineers.
