GENERAL INFORMATION ALMS OFFERING - Our regular Alms offering will be collected after all services at the door. These funds go to help the needy in our congregation. Thank you for your generosity. ASH WEDNESDAY is March 5th. Services will be at 3:30 and 7:00pm with Holy Communion. Beginning Wednesday, March 12th we will have our regular Lenten mid-week services at 3:30 and 7:00pm. Please prayerfully consider adding these worship times to your schedule. 8th GRADE FISH FRY – Ash Wednesday, March 5th, from 4:30 to 6:30pm. Cost for this all-you-can-eat meal is Adults $8, Students (4–13) $5, Immediate Family Plan $30.00, under 4 is free. Menu is fried and baked fish, chicken tenders, coleslaw, roll and dessert. We are always looking for new members. 2014 LENTEN DEVOTIONS ARE NOW ONLINE - This year’s Lenten Devotions focus on Christ’s horrific suffering, death, and victorious resurrection in “My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?” Using Psalms and Gospels as daily texts, these moving reflections highlight the Savior’s life and ministry as He poured Himself out for our sins on the cross. We are studying Luke’s Gospel. WEST GALLERY BIBLE STUDY – We are currently discussing the Bible’s most vile character, Satan, using a video series entitled “The Great Deceiver.” Rolando Hinojosa is the facilitator. PENNSYLVANIA RD CAMPUS NEWS WATCH PATROL - PA Rd is looking for a few more volunteers to do watch patrol. SCRAP METAL PICK UPS - For the safety of our volunteers, no pickups will be made during the winter months. Pick-ups will resume in the Spring. ITEMS OF INTEREST SENIORS’ LUNCH BUNCH will meet on Tuesday, March 4th at 11:30am at Hungarian Rhapsody Restaurant, 14315 Northline Rd., Southgate. EUCHRE PLAYERS – Mark you calendars! Our next tournament is Saturday, March 8th in the Atrium at the PA Rd Campus. We start at 7 pm SHARP! (Sorry, but we are unable to accommodate latecomers.) Cost is $3/single player, $5/for a couple. Each player is asked to bring a beverage and snack to share. Partners are not necessary; guests are welcome. This is a FUN event and prizes are awarded. Questions? Call Jan McSweeney. CTK ANNUAL FUND DINNER AUCTION - Saturday, March 29th, 7pm to Midnight, Biddle Hall Wyandotte. Featuring a D.J., comedian, auction, great food and good friends! Attire for the evening is casual. Please join us as we continue to support our Annual Fund and Christ The King School. A few of the items up for auction are: passes to Disney World, an autographed script by Tim Allen of “Last Man Standing”, front row seats to our Christmas Program, parking spaces for a year, projects made by each class. Tickets are on sale NOW in the school office or at the Ministry Center between worship services. Cost is $35.00/single, $60.00/couple, $225.00/table of 8. Deadline for ticket purchase is Monday, March 24th. CD PROJECT - We are currently working on a CTK music CD that will hopefully be ready by Easter. Copies of the CD will be available for a donation and the proceeds will be divided between the Donation Station and CTK Music Ministries. In order to cut down on expenses, copyright being the biggest expense, we are asking members to donate empty plastic CD covers. You can drop them off in the church office or at Building #9 at PA Rd during Donation Station work hours. FLAMINGO FLOCKING - Want to flock someone’s yard this spring with 25, 50 or more bright pink plastic flamingos? The High School Youth will be providing this service, starting in April, for birthdays, anniversaries, birth announcements, retirements, or just for plain ole fun! Prices are reasonable and help support our trip to the Michigan District LMCS Gathering on Mackinac Island this June. It includes a CEF video that was filmed right here at CTK. Stop by for a visit at www.ctk.me/cef. DONATION STATION UPDATE - We are asking for donations of propane gas heaters and/or gift cards to purchase propane gas. We also need people to adopt a room and volunteers to work on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. New work rule: we don’t work unless it is over 32 degrees outside! You may continue to donate items for selling. Just put them under the building #9 tarped overhang at your convenience. Please don’t donate anything that does not work, or older type TV’s; only flat screens. Keep this ministry in your prayers. MICHIGAN DISTRICT LCMS GATHERING - The High School Youth Group will be attending the Michigan District LCMS Gathering on June 22--25, 2014 at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island. We meet in the evening 2 times per month for about 2 hours each time. It is a rewarding ministry for those that have the spiritual gifts of Hospitality and Shepherding. WATCH PATROL – Chances are if you signed up to do Watch Patrol on the Every Member in Ministry form, Lisa has sent you an email. To ensure the safety of our church, the Watch Patrol goes through the building and makes sure all doors are locked and lights turned off. Sign up for one week at a time. NURSERY HELP NEEDED for Wednesday Lenten services at 3:30 and 7pm, starting March 5th through April 9th. Adult and youth volunteers are needed. If you’re a regular Nursery volunteer, can you take an extra turn for this special need? New Nursery volunteers must be members and must take the Child Abuse Prevention Workshop and complete an application. If you’d like to help but don’t meet these criteria, we will help you through the process. Your service in the Nursery blesses the children, their parents and our entire congregation in worship.
