GENERAL INFORMATION SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL – Please prayerfully consider signing up to teach Summer Sunday School. It’s only a one month commitment. The sign up sheet is on the bulletin board outside the Sunday School office (The Commons). NEWSLETTER ARTICLES are due by Monday, June 16th. Please e-mail them to or turn them in to the newsletter box in the church office. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – July 21-25, 9am to noon. Lots of volunteers are needed! Look for the VBS sign-up sheets in the back of the West Gallery. BOOKS FOR BIBLES - Please take a look at our “Books for Bibles” display, located at the south end of the cafeteria near the gym. The books range from Patterson to Picoult, Christian books to cookbooks, with every genre in between. You may take a book and make a donation in the lock box attached to the shelf. All proceeds go toward the purchase of New Bibles/Hymnals for the new sanctuary. BRICK PAVER PROGRAM - This is a wonderful way to honor/remember a loved one, family member or close friend. Informational brochures and order forms are available online at, at the Ministry Center at Trenton Rd and the Atrium at PA Rd. Sample bricks are also available to view. Please prayerfully consider this initiative, which will honor a loved one and help CTK in our “Journey.” Contact Phyllis Moore at with questions. CTK SUMMER CAMP - For students entering Kindergarten through 8th grade, now through August 29th. Applications are available at the Ministry Center, outside the school office or on our website, Click on “Summer Camp.” Questions? Please call the school office at 734.285.9697. What is SCRIP? - SCRIP is gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used for groceries, gasoline, restaurants, and retail stores just like cash. We purchase SCRIP at a discount and resell it at face value. You use SCRIP to make purchases you would make anyway, earning from 2% - 15% for the school. SCRIP is available on Saturdays and Sundays and is sold at the Ministry Center following each worship service and after Bible class. CONFIRMATION PROGRAM CONFIRMATION CAMP is June 16th through the 19th, 8:55 to noon. Camp is mandatory for all current 7th & 8th grade students in the Confirmation program. Members and visitors, we extend a warm greeting and ask you to register your attendance by signing in the “Ritual of Fellowship” book. If you are a first or second-time guest, please indicate your address so we may send you a thank you letter. Also, please feel free to identify yourself by attaching a small rose (from the fellowship book) on your lapel. We’re glad you are here! Please come again! STEPHEN MINISTRY - Did you know? Since 1975 more than half a million Stephen Ministers have been trained, providing care to more than 2 million people in need. BIBLE STUDIES PLEASE MAKE THE STUDY OF GOD’S WORD A ROUTINE OF YOUR WORSHIP LIFE FELLOWSHIP BIBLE STUDY – Please join us Saturday at 6pm in the West Gallery, Sunday at 9:45am in the Gym on Trenton Rd, as well as 10:50am in the Atrium at the PA Rd Campus. We are studying John’s Gospel. WEST GALLERY BIBLE STUDY – The West Gallery study will take a break for the summer and resume the Sunday after Labor Day. Please join the Fellowship Bible study during the summer months. HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH BIBLE STUDY meets at 9:45am in the Upper Room. Please join us. MEN’S BIBLE STUDY meets on Wednesdays from 8 to 9am at the PA Rd Campus Fellowship Center. SMALL GROUPS - Most of our Small Groups take a break for the summer and will begin again in September. The groups typically meet once a month in people’s home for Bible Study and fellowship. Presently we have sixteen Small Groups running at CTK. If you would like more information about getting into a Small Group this fall, please contact or 734.281.3773. PENNSYLVANIA RD CAMPUS NEWS MOWING - If you are interested in helping out with mowing at our PA Rd Campus, please contact Rick Lang at or 734.654.6884. We can use help with weed whipping, hand mowing and rider mowing. WATCH PATROL - PA Rd is looking for a few more volunteers to do watch patrol. SCRAP METAL PICK UPS - Thank you for your donations to our scrap dumpster at PA Rd. Please keep saving your scrap metal and drop it off at your convenience. If you have a large (local) donation and need a pick-up, please contact Gene at 2014 YTD is $957. PAPER RECYCLE BINS are located by the Admin Bldg near the trash and scrap recycle dumpsters. Thanks! FLAMINGO FLOCKING - Want to flock someone’s yard this spring with 25, 50 or more bright pink plastic flamingos? The High School Youth will be providing this service throughout the summer for birthdays, anniversaries, birth announcements, retirements, or just for plain ole fun! Prices are very reasonable: 25 flamingos for $20 or 50 flamingos for $30. All funds help support our trip to the Michigan District LMCS Gathering on Mackinac Island this June. This year’s event will take place on the weekend of August 1 st to 3rd at Totem Pole Park in Petersburg, MI. JR HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH LOCK IN – Friday, June 20th we will hold a lock in at the Pennsylvania Rd Campus for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade youth members. It will begin at 7pm on Friday and end at 8am on Saturday, June 21 st. HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH TONIGHT Sunday, June 15th we will not meet. Please enjoy the day with your Dad and family! DONATION STATION NEWS JULY COMMUNITY SALE BAKED GOODS - Please consider donating any type of baked goods for the Thursday through Saturday sale, July 24th to 26th. Start baking and freezing now, as all of Southgate awaits! Look for upcoming sign-up sheets for cashiering on those days and remember we are always working to get ready on Thursdays from 2 to 4pm and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. Questions? As a rule, Bobby makes pick-ups a couple of times each month. DONATION STATION IMMEDIATE NEEDS - For the July 24 th to 26th sale we are asking for these donations: hot dogs, pop, baked goods, and gift certificates for any grocery store. They can be donated any time between now and the sale dates. Please bring donated items to the Donation Station Building, Building #9, on any Thursday from 2 to 4pm, Saturday from 10am to 1pm or any time on the Wednesday before the sale. DONATIONS - Please consider donating items of your own. We cannot take old style TVs and we have enough clothes. Old exercise equipment does not sell, but we could use good furniture, cell phones, radios, outdoor gardening tools, bikes/trikes, old cameras, full dish sets, and sports equipment. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES DONUT PATROL – Dunkin Donuts in Southgate (Eureka Rd), under new ownership, is no longer able to deliver our donuts to Trenton Rd. We are in need of volunteers to pick up the donuts each Saturday at 4pm and/or Sunday at 7am.
