TODAY IS CUB SCOUT SUNDAY – Scout Sunday celebrates the birthday of the Cub Scouts in 1910, 104 years old. Christ The King has been an important partner in the Scouting program. The Scouts of Pack 1783 will be our greeters and be recognized today at the 11am service. CTK SCHOOL ALUMNI OF ALL AGES are invited to sing in an alumni choir at the 9:45 service on Sunday, March 2 nd. Two rehearsals will be held at 3:30 on Saturdays, 2/22 and 3/1. Contact Tim Bode (734-285-9695 x17; if you are interested or have questions. SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN are collecting Puff’s tissue boxes to decorate and deliver to the nursing home for Valentine’s Day. Decorating will take place on Sunday, February 9 th. Please drop off boxes in the Sunday School office. Thank you for your donations. CTK DAY SCHOOL NEWS – We are now accepting applications for 3 year preschool through 8 th grade for the 2014-15 school year. Preschool Open House will be held on February 17 th from 9am to 6pm. Open House for Kindergarten through 8th grade will be held on March 5 th from 9am to 5pm. If you are not able to make the open house, please call 734.285.9697 or email to set up a visit. BIBLE STUDIES PLEASE MAKE THE STUDY OF GOD’S WORD A ROUTINE OF YOUR WORSHIP LIFE FELLOWSHIP BIBLE STUDY – Please join us Saturday at 6pm in the West Gallery, Sunday at 9:45am in the Gym on Trenton Rd, as well as 10:50am in the Atrium at the PA Rd Campus. We are studying Luke’s Gospel. WEST GALLERY BIBLE STUDY – We are currently discussing the Bible’s most vile character, Satan, using a video series entitled “The Great Deceiver.” Rolando Hinojosa is our facilitator. HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH BIBLE STUDY meets at 9:45am in the Upper Room. Please join us. MEN’S BIBLE STUDY meets on Wednesdays from 8 to 9am at the PA Rd Campus Fellowship Center. WOMEN’S WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY meets every Wednesday at 9:15am in the Upper Room. We continue our study of the Book of Acts. All women are welcome. SMALL GROUP NEED - We have several members who would like to join a Small Group where children are welcome to come. At this point, we only have one group out of 20 that accommodates children. If you would be willing to host such a group, please contact Carol at or 734.281.3773. We have teachers who are willing to lead, but are unable to host. Please pray that the Lord will nudge you, if He has gifted you with the gift of hospitality, to volunteer to host a study once a month.

SPIRITUAL CARE MINISTRY - If you have a family member or friend at CTK who is hospitalized, in a nursing home or confined to their home, please call the church office. SCRAP METAL PICK UPS - For the safety of our volunteers, no pickups will be made during the winter months. Pick-ups will resume in the Spring. You are still welcome to drop items off in the scrap dumpster located on the PA Rd Campus. Thank you for ALL of your donations to this fundraising ministry.

To attend or cancel, contact Joan Dyer-Zinner at SUPERBOWL SUNDAY SUB SALE - If you pre-ordered subs, they will be available for pickup before and after services on Saturday and Sunday, February 1 st and 2nd, in the school cafeteria. Thank you for supporting the High School Youth! DADDY-DAUGHTER DANCE – Friday, February 7 th, 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Cost is $10 per Dad & Daughter, $15 for Dad & two or more Daughters. Cost covers DJ, picture, “goody bag” & refreshments. Pay at the door. All ages welcome. EUCHRE PLAYERS – Our next tournament is Saturday, February 8th in the Atrium at the PA Rd Campus. We start at 7 pm SHARP! (Sorry, but we are unable to accommodate latecomers.) Cost is $3/single player, $5/for a couple. Each player is asked to bring a beverage and snack to share. FREE GARDENING CLASS – This 5-week class will meet Tuesdays, beginning February 4 th, at CTK, Trenton Rd, in the Upper Room. Class time is 1pm and repeated at 7pm. No registration required; just come! Week 1: The ABC’s of successful seed starting. Week 2: Seed saving: The “How to do it” yourself the right way. Week 3: Vegetable Gardening made easier and more productive in your space. Week 4: Growing and storing Herbs, either fresh, frozen or dried; how to do it. Week 5: How to design the space yourself, steps to do on a shoestring or have all or part of it done by someone else. 8th GRADE BOWLING FUNDRAISER – Saturday, February 15th, 7 to 9pm at Woodhaven Lanes. Cost is $20/person for 2 games, shoes, pizza and pop. Tickets will be sold at the Ministry Center. You must purchase tickets in advance. Thanks for supporting the 8 th grade class. DONATION STATION – Thanks to those who donated butane tanks and propane for our heat. We are there every Thursday from 2 to 4pm and Saturday from 10am to 1pm, getting ready for our next community sale, which is in May this year. We could sure use help on those days; dress warmly! We also depend on our faithful members to donate items to sell. Please put donations under the overhang of Building #9, which is now tarped. Come and enjoy a delicious sampling of soups, chili, and homemade desserts before heading home to watch the Super Bowl. Tickets are $8 per person. EARLY COMMUNION CLASS INSTRUCTION DATES – This four-week class will meet in the sanctuary for four consecutive Sundays, beginning February 23rd. Mike Harden will be your instructor. This Spring class is limited to 15 students. Children of members who are 10 years old and in the 5th grade are eligible to register. To review the policies, please pick up a form from the Resource Center. Students must be registered in order to attend. Please return completed forms to the church office. You will need a Luther’s Small Catechism for this class, which may be purchased from the Psalms and Proverbs Bookstore for $13. Call Sharon Sutton with questions. First Communion for this class will be Sunday, March 23 rd at the 8:30am service. JR HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH 5th & 6th GRADE YOUTH meets today, Sunday, February 2nd from 3 to 5pm at the PA Rd Campus. Please join us! HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH TONIGHT Sunday, February 2 nd we meet from 7 to 9pm at the PA Rd Campus for devotion and snack. HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH NEXT WEEK Sunday, February 9th we will meet from 6 to 7pm at PA Rd to discuss the MI District LCMS Gathering. From 7 to 9pm we will meet for devotion and snack. MICHIGAN DISTRICT LCMS GATHERING - The High School Youth will attend the Michigan District LCMS Gathering, held June 22 to June 25, 2014, at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island. There will be an informational meeting on Sunday, February 9 at 6pm at the Pennsylvania Rd Campus to discuss trip details and also to discuss new and upcoming fundraisers for 2014. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WATCH PATROL – Sign up on the chart in the West Gallery! To ensure the safety of our church, the Watch Patrol goes through the building and makes sure all doors are locked and lights turned off. Sign up for one week at a time. Questions? Call Don Hatfield. SUPPORT MINISTRIES GRIEFSHARE for those grieving the loss of a loved one, meets each Monday through April 7 th in the Upper Room from 7 to 9pm. Cost is $10 for registration. Questions? Childcare available at $2 per child (if prearranged). IN THE WEST GALLERY FLOWER CHART for March to July is up in the West Gallery. Flowers are $15 a vase. We have 6 vases available each week.
