GENERAL INFORMATION MEMBERS AND VISITORS for all worship services, please remember to sign in the Record of Fellowship book with your contact information. Please print your name and address so you can be given attendance credit, update your contact info and also, if you are a visitor, sent information on upcoming events. Thank you. EASTER BREAKFAST – Join us on Easter morning from 7:30 to 10am. This delicious meal will be catered by Secret Recipes. Menu includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown patties, biscuits, and orange juice. A free-will offering will be collected. “C” DOLLARS – We are collecting “C” dollars now through Easter Sunday. Look for the box at the back of the sanctuary. All proceeds will go toward the Capital Fund Drive. 2014 YTD is $344. LWML DEARBORN/DOWNRIVER ZONE SPRING RALLY – Tuesday, April 22 nd, 7 to 9pm at St. John’s Lutheran, 13115 Telegraph, Taylor. The theme is “Until the Nets are Full” based on Matthew 4:19, “And He said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.’” The speaker is CTK member, Debby Suchyta. Please join us! CONFIRMATION ADULT PEER EDITORS NEEDED - June 16th to 19th, from 10 to 11am. If you would like to help two or three students write their Confirmation testimonies of faith or would like more information about this opportunity, please contact Carol at or 734.281.3773. Your job would be to encourage, support, and be a “friend” to these kids during this class. If you enjoy writing, that is helpful, but not necessary. BRICK PAVER PROGRAM - This is a wonderful way to honor/remember a loved one, family member or close friend. Informational brochures and order forms are available online at, at the Ministry Center at Trenton Rd and the Atrium at PA Rd. Sample bricks are also available to view. Please prayerfully consider this initiative, which will honor a loved one and help CTK in our “Journey.” Contact Phyllis Moore at with questions. What is SCRIP? - SCRIP is gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used for groceries, gasoline, restaurants, and retail stores just like cash. We purchase SCRIP at a discount and resell it at face value. You use SCRIP to make purchases you would make anyway, earning from 2% - 15% for the school. SCRIP is available on Saturdays and Sundays and is sold at the Ministry Center following each worship service and after Bible class. SPIRITUAL CARE MINISTRY - If you have a family member or friend at CTK who is hospitalized, in a nursing home or confined to their home, please call the church office. BIBLE STUDIES PLEASE MAKE THE STUDY OF GOD’S WORD A ROUTINE OF YOUR WORSHIP LIFE FELLOWSHIP BIBLE STUDY – Please join us Saturday at 6pm in the West Gallery, Sunday at 9:45am in the Gym on Trenton Rd, as well as 10:50am in the Atrium at the PA Rd Campus. We are studying Luke’s Gospel. WEST GALLERY BIBLE STUDY – We are looking at a video series on “The Early Church.” Please join us. HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH BIBLE STUDY meets at 9:45am in the Upper Room. Please join us. MEN’S BIBLE STUDY meets on Wednesdays from 8 to 9am at the PA Rd Campus Fellowship Center. WOMEN’S WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY meets every Wednesday at 9:15am in the Upper Room. We are studying Ecclesiastes. All women are welcome. We will not meet April 23rd, but will resume on April 30 th. SMALL GROUP INFORMATION - New Small Groups will begin this September. Would you enjoy meeting once a month in a member’s home to study God’s Word and enjoy Christian fellowship? Small groups usually meet during the school year from September to May, taking December off. We try to keep each group between 15 and 20 people. Presently, we have 20 Small Groups that meet regularly. We would like to start at least one new group this fall, so if this interests you, please contact Carol at or 734.281.3773. PENNSYLVANIA RD CAMPUS NEWS MOWING - If you are interested in helping out with mowing at our PA Rd Campus, please contact Rick Lang at or 734.654.6884. We can use help with weed whipping, hand mowing and rider mowing. WATCH PATROL - PA Rd is looking for a few more volunteers to do watch patrol. Please contact Denise Cashmer at if you have any questions or would like to help. TOOL-BELT TUESDAYS – Join us Tuesdays from 8 to 11am at the Admin Bldg. SCRAP METAL PICK UPS - For the safety of our volunteers, no pickups will be made during the winter months. Pick-ups will resume in the Spring. You are still welcome to drop items off in the scrap dumpster located on the PA Rd Campus. Thank you for ALL of your donations to this fundraising ministry. 2014 YTD is $544. PAPER RECYCLE BINS are located by the Admin Bldg near the trash and scrap recycle dumpsters. Thanks! BOTTLE/CAN COLLECTIONS are donated to the roof repair fund for future roof repairs. ITEMS OF INTEREST SENIORS’ LUNCH BUNCH meets Tuesday, May 6 th at 11:30pm at the Olive Garden in Southgate on Eureka Rd. Call Joyce Shoup to attend or cancel. FLAMINGO FLOCKING - Want to flock someone’s yard this spring with 25, 50 or more bright pink plastic flamingos? The High School Youth will be providing this service throughout April, May and June for birthdays, anniversaries, birth announcements, retirements, or just for plain ole fun! Prices are very reasonable: 25 flamingos for $20 or 50 flamingos for $30. All funds help support our trip to the Michigan District LMCS Gathering on Mackinac Island this June. CTK’s SPRING MOM2MOM SALE - SAVE THE DATE for the CTK Mom to Mom Sale on Saturday, May 3 rd, from 9am to 1pm, hosted by the CTK High School Youth Group. Over 100 tables of great re-sale items and vendors. Admission is only $1! A great concession stand and bake sale will also be available. CTK COMMUNITY GARDEN – Do you like to garden? Do you have a green thumb? Join us Sunday, April 27 th at 12:15pm in the Cana Room as we discuss our plans for the 2014 community garden at the PA Rd Campus. Planting date is Saturday, May 17th at 9am. The harvest is used to benefit our food pantry. REJOICE! - A concert praising God for the gift of music and recognizing the faithful service of Steve and Rachel Garrabrant. The concert will be held at Lutheran High School South, in the Student Commons, on Wednesday, May 14 th, at 7pm. Performances by Handbells and Band. A free-will offering will be taken. Join us for a dessert reception after the concert. COLLECTIONS IN THE WEST GALLERY COFFEE CANS – At this time we have enough coffee cans for the Altar flowers. Thank you for your donations! VBS DONATIONS - Popsicle sticks (craft variety from the dollar store), any color yarn, and any color plastic tablecloths 52x90 or larger. Donations can be dropped off in the church office with a note for VBS. Thanks! EYEGLASSES for MOST Ministries. All types of glasses are accepted. HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH NEXT WEEK Sunday, April 27th we meet from 7 to 9pm at the PA Rd Campus for devotion and snack. SUPPORT MINISTRIES GRIEFSHARE – Two 13-week sessions of this support group, for those grieving the loss of a loved one, have been scheduled: April 28th to July 21 st and October 6th to December 29th. We will meet on Mondays from 7 to 9pm in the Upper Room. BLIND SUPPORT GROUP – This group has been placed on hold. If you are interested or have a need, please contact Bob Rehahn at 734.281.8025 and he will set up a time and date. ALCOHOLICS FOR CHRIST – Meets Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Commons. Childcare available at $2 per child (if prearranged). VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WELCOME CALLERS - Are you interested in meeting new visitors to Christ The King? We are in need of two more Welcome Callers. We meet in the evening two times per month for about two hours each time. It is a rewarding ministry for those that have the spiritual gifts of Hospitality and Shepherding. To ensure the safety of our church, the Watch Patrol goes through the building and makes sure all doors are locked and lights turned off. IN THE WEST GALLERY CARE NOTES FOR ADULTS AND TEENS are available at the Resource Center in the West Gallery. Check out these encouraging pamphlets, covering many different topics, including dealing with grief, illness, being a care-giver, prayer, and growing in Christ. Feel free to help yourself and/or take one for a friend. Also, remember to read/study your Bible daily, as all the answers are there, as well. DONATION STATION NEWS DONATION STATION COMMUNITY SALE DATES - May 16th and 17th from 9am to 5pm. For those of you who would like to help, you may sign up online at, on the posters at either campus, or at the D.S. building. Perhaps you will find a time that would suit you to volunteer as a cashier. Please invite your Facebook and Twitter friends! DONATIONS - We need more “stuff” and pant hangers! Take a look at the Easter baskets on the table by the Ministry Center. These baskets are made by Carol Koskela with items donated to the D.S. All proceeds are donated to the new sanctuary fund. DONATION STATION COOKIES - We will be selling homemade cookies at our May 16 th and 17th sale. If baking cookies is your “thing,’ please sign up on the sheet located at either campus. You may bring them to the D.S. building any time on May 15 th, 16th, or 17th. We will be selling them by the dozen.
