ASSISTANT COACH THIRD SEASON GEORGE FOX UNIVERSITY, 1985

Bob Lowe, a highly respected basketball coach on the collegiate level, joined the Cal State Northridge basketball program in 2009 as an assistant coach. His role with the Matadors will involve working with the team’s post players and other administrative responsibilities. Lowe came to CSUN with a tremendous amount of experience, having served as an assistant coach for 25 years prior to arriving at Northridge. Prior to his hire at Northridge, Lowe spent eight seasons with the Cal Poly Mustangs from 2002-09. During his tenure with the Mustangs, Lowe’s coaching responsiblities included roles as defensive coordinator, the conditioning and off-season workout schedule coordinator, and handling all team travel arrangements. Previous to his coaching tenure at Cal Poly, Lowe served as an assistant coach at Portland (2000-01), Southern Utah (1992-00) and at New Mexico State (1989-92). During his tenure at New Mexico State, the Aggies appeared in three straight NCAA Tournaments, and advanced to the NCAA “Sweet 16” in 1992. During his last three years at New Mexico State, the team chalked up a 74-18 record. That included a victory over a UNLV (1/8/90) team that had won the NCAA championship the year before. Lowe aided in the development of former New Mexico State stars Randy Brown and Reggie Jordan, who both played in the NBA During the 2006-07 season, Cal Poly chalked up a school record 19 wins, and advanced to the Big West Conference Tournament championship game twice (2003, 2007). At Southern Utah, the Thunderbirds were ranked #1 among Division I independent teams (1994). Southern Utah captured two American West Conference Tournaments (1995, 1996). In 1995, Southern Utah led the nation in threepoint field goal percentage. A 1985 graduate of George Fox University near Portland, Lowe began his tenure in the coaching profession as an undergraduate assistant (1983-85) before joining the coaching staff as an assistant coach at the College of the Desert (1985-89) upon graduation. Lowe also earned his master’s degree in Education Administration from Cal State San Bernardino in 1994. Bob and his wife, Kelli, have one son, Casey.

ASSISTANT COACH SECOND SEASON CAL STATE DOMINGUEZ HILLS, 2010

Jay Morris, who served two seasons (2008-09, 2009-10) as Director of Basketball Operations at Long Beach State, was named an assistant coach at Cal State Northridge on

June 22, 2010. While at Long Beach State, Morris' responsibilities included all day-to-day operations of the program, including team travel, film exchange and directing all basketball camps and clinics. Morris also served as the strength and conditioning coach for the men's basketball program. Previous to Long Beach State, Morris served as an assistant coach and strength coach at Westchester High School in 2007-08. The Comets advanced to the semifinals of the Los Angeles City Championships and went to the second round of the state tournament. In recent years, Morris was a personal trainer and founder of DREAM, which trained both athletes and individuals. Morris has worked with athletes at the high school, collegiate and professional levels. Morris was a standout basketball and football star at Westchester High School. In 1998, Morris gained all-league and all-city honors as a quarterback. He played one year of basketball at Citrus College before transferring to Cal Lutheran. Morris played two years of football as a cornerback and punt returner. He played one year (2004) for the Bakersfield Blitz of the Arena Football League. Morris gained his degree in Kinesiology from Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2010.

SPRINKLE

ASSISTANT COACH TENTH SEASON MONTANA STATE, 2000

Danny Sprinkle returned to the Cal State Northridge staff prior to the 2008-09 season and continues this year (2011-12) as an assistant coach. For six seasons (2000-01 through 2005-06), Sprinkle successfully served on the CSUN coaching staff as an assistant coach. His dutes included coaching the Matador guards, and assisting head coach Bobby Braswell with the team’s offense in addition to coordinating the recruiting. In Sprinkle’s first season (2000-01) at Cal State Northridge, the Matadors captured the Big Sky regular and tournament titles, and advanced to the school’s first appearance ever in the NCAA Tournament. That season, the Matadors scored a school record 2,650 points (22-10 record). After his initial coaching tenure at Cal State Northridge, Sprinkle moved on to become an assistant coach at Montana State (2006-07, 2007-08) where he gained undergraduate stardom as a player for the Bobcats (1995-99). As an undergraduate at Montana State, Sprinkle not only started all four seasons, but also helped lead the Bobcats to the Big Sky Tournament four times and twice led his team to the Big Sky Championship game in 1996 (scored 30 points) and 1998. Sprinkle, a three-time all-conference player, was named the tournament’s MVP as a freshman (1995-96) after helping Montana State claim the regular season and tournament title. Sprinkle is the Montana State school record holder with 263 three-pointers. His career three-pointers made still ranks fourth all-time in Big Sky Conference history. During his playing days at Montana State, Sprinkle shot .418 (263-for-628) from three-point range (#6 all-time in MSU history), and .473 (529-for-1,118) overall from the floor. Sprinkle averaged 13.4 points per game (1,497 points, #6

all-time in school history). In 2006, Sprinkle was named to the Montana State Athletic Hall of Fame, the first year of eligibility. Sprinkle, who was born in Pullman, Washington on Oct. 12, 1976, enjoyed an outstanding career at Helena High School in Montana. His basketball career included being named all-state twice. Sprinkle also competed in football (all-state as a wide receiver) and track (all-state in the hurdles) at Helena High School where he graduated in 1995. Sprinkle graduated from Montana State in 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Enhancement.

SCHWARTZBERG DIRECTOR OF BASKETBALL OPERATIONS THIRD SEASON UCLA, 2008

Lior Schwartzberg joined the Cal State Northridge basketball program as the Director of Basketball Operations in 2009-10. Besides his duties in basketball operations, his responsibilities include monitoring academics as the Director of Academic Affairs for Men's Basketball. Since taking over the academic program in the Summer of 2010, the Matadors' Men's Basketball team GPA has constantly been in the top of the department maintaining a 3.08 GPA in 2011 and a 3.03 GPA since the beginning of this role. Along with academic affairs, Schwartberg also assists with the budget, travel, coordinating visits and film breakdown. Schwartzberg hails from the University of California, Irvine, where he served as Video Coordinator for the Anteaters during the 2008-09 season. His responsibilities also included coordinating of the film exchange program, preparing film presentations, and monitoring and performing daily logistical operations. Following his tenure at UCI, Schwartzberg also served several months as the Director of Basketball Operations for Double Pump Basketball. His responsibilities were extensive including arranging team travel for players, managing team uniform and equipment orders, conducting daily basketball operation tasks, and recruiting potential players. Schwartzberg has also worked at numerous camps including those at Stanford, UCLA, UCLA Elite Camp, UC Irvine, Santa Clara, UC Santa Barbara, the Ben Howland Basketball Camp, the West Coast All-Star Camp, and the Tom Asbury Camps at Pepperdine. Schwartzberg also has extensive coaching experience. His coaching responsibilities have included being a five-year varsity assistant; three years at The Brentwood School in Los Angeles and two years at Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo. He also served as head frosh coach at The Brentwood School, and head sophomore coach at Capistrano Valley High School. During his tenure at both schools, Schwartzberg helped both schools reach the CIF playoffs all five years. Schwartzberg has also founded the Latino Association for Basketball Coaches and has worked closely with the NABC in establishing an annual Latino Coaches Meeting at the 2011 NCAA Final Four in Houston, TX. Schwartzberg, who graduated from UCLA in 2008 with a degree in Philosophy, served as a scout team player for the UCLA women's basketball program from 2005-08.
