Shadows Three that affect your life By Don Short
The shadow of death:
“To shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace” Luke 1:79, NASB.
The shadow of healing:
“They even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on any one of them” Acts 5:15, NASB. Let us be near to and surround ourselves with a community of believers. We can draw our healing from them and be in a better place when we try to minister to those who are sick.
Isaiah 34:15 talks about how the owl cares for her young under the shadow of her wings. Isaiah 32:2 talks about Christ as a refuge from the storm under the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land. In Isaiah 49:2 and 51:16, we read about finding safety in the shadow of His hand. What a wonderful God we serve! We are living in a land and time when there are many shadows. Many are lost and afraid, filled with fear and anxiety. They don’t understand these shadows and can’t
recognize the difference. For them, the shadows all look the same. They are afraid just as we were before we came to know our Savior. In darkness we can find our Savior, for He is the light. His sheep know Him, feel Him and know His voice. Let’s make this a year of introducing others to our Lord and Savior so they, too, will find healing and safety in this dark world.
BODY & SOUL
There are people in our lives and things in our past that want to destroy us and keep us from becoming all that God wants us to be. When we draw near to our Savior and allow the light of His Word to shine on our lives, our feet will be guided in His ways and in the paths of peace.
