HOUSING DEVELOPMENT - SOUTHBOROUGH, MA

This is a planting plan for a housing development. For this project, plants were chosen for swales, buffers and different sun exposures. My responsibility in this project was placing the plants and rendering the plan in CAD.

The grading plan shown here is for the site of a residential home. The idea behind this plan is sustainability. The grading here was kept to a minimum while still allowing for proper drainage.

PLANTING DESIGN

SHIFT BOSTON - BOSTON, MA

The aim of this project was to create a unique feature in the landscape for the city of Boston. This design is in the Fort Point Channel and serves as a pedestrian connection between the two sides with views down the channel.

BOW STREET - COHASSET, MA

For this home addition, the Conservation Comission required the client to provide them with a landscape plan. In order for the addition to be built, the Conservation Comission required the property to be planted with native plant materials and any hardscape would need to be permeable to reduce runoff into the marsh.

DESIGN PROCESS

BLACK AND WHITE HAND SKETCH

Perspective sketch of a city plaza. The purpose of this project was to create an area that was an escape from the busy city life and one that had a human scale.

DESIGN PROCESS

COMMUTER RAIL STATION - EAST GREENWICH, RI Phase 1: Design charrette with URI graduates from Carol R. Johnson Associates to get ideas flowing.

Phase 2: Organization of ideas that were generated during the design charrette.

Phase 3: Design. This is where each member of the group took a section of the plan and designed it according to the ideas from the charrette. This was an interesting and challenging way to design because you had to work closely with the sections on either side of you so that the design would flow.

RIVER LANE - DUXBURY, MA

The concept designs produced give three options for the location of the proposed garage and layout for the driveway and planting beds. The end goal of the project is to make the upper area for guests and keep the lower area private for the client through use of different hardscape and softscape materials.

DESIGN PROCESS

MEDEIROS MEMORIAL PARK - BRISTOL, RI

Concept: Ideas and circulation for the park were mapped out on the site.

Schematic: This is where the ideas from the concept plan became more refined. In this plan, the concepts were roughly drawn in to start to get a feel for the scale.

DESIGN PROCESS

Perspective showing the entrance to the memorial area with the overhead structure and the water wall.

Perspective showing the recreational area with pavilions for spectator to sit.

Section showing the garden area which provides a quiet place for reflection.

Master Plan: This was the final desing for the park. The areas, elements and circulation were all laid out in detail for this plan. The Medeiros Memorial Park was designed to serve as a memorial for Maryellen Medeiros and vicitms of domestic violence as well as a park to serve the community. This is accomplished by having areas for memorials and quiet reflection as well as a recreation area and walking paths for the community.
