Softball Team Looking for Players
Food for Fines at Library MECHANICVILLE - Fine Amnesty at the Mechanicville District Public Library will run November 1st through the 30th. The library will accept a nonperishable food item for each Mechanicville Library fine. For example if you have 3 fines on your card, you need to bring 3 food items, please check the expiration date. *Fines from other libraries, replacement costs and collection fees cannot be waived. Food items needed: canned vegetables, peanut butter, tuna, pasta, coffee and soup. The food items will be donated to Mechanicville’s Emergency Food Pantry. Call 664-4646 with any questions.
Foster Parent Meeting SARATOGA CO. - A Foster Parent Information Meeting will be held on November 25, 2013 at 4:00pm at the Services Building, 152 West High Street, Ballston Spa. Saratoga County is in need of foster homes for school-aged children and teenagers. The next certification class will begin in Spring, 2014. Friends of Clifton Park Open Space
CLIFTON PARK - Friends of Clifton Park Open Space (FCPOS) will be presenting “Clifton Park Open Spaces--And What They Mean to You” at the Library, Thursday, November 7th, 2013, 7pm. We will cover some history of open space initiatives in Clifton Park, current open space resources, and ideas for management and preservation of parcels in the future. FCPOS commissioned the services of the Siena College Department of Environmental Sciences to used scientific data to compile the criteria for natural resources Water, Agriculture, Woodlands & Habitat. The criteria for these resources, combine them into overall statistics and convert them into mapping tools for assessing the defined resources across the parcels in the study area of Western Clifton Park.
