Clean Up Day BALLSTON LAKE – The Ballston Lake Improvement Association and Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Business & Professional Association, in cooperation with the Town of Ballston, are sponsoring the annual Ballston Lake Clean Up Day on Saturday, May 7 from 8-11am. Volunteers of all ages, including individuals, family groups and community groups, are invited to participate. Volunteers do not need to sign up in advance; just show up at the Ballston Lake Fire Station on Route 146A on Saturday, May 7, for donuts, a supply of plastic bags, a free tee shirt, and an assignment to clear a section of roadside of winter debris. It is suggested that volunteers wear boots and gloves. (P)

News Release: HUDSON RIVER COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION RAISES FUNDS FOR THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION Glens Falls, NY (April 20, 2011): Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) recently presented a check for over $810 to American Heart Association as a result of their Jeans for Charity Program for January, February and March 2011. On the first Friday of each month, credit union employees can donate $5 to wear jeans for the day and also accept donations from members visiting the branches for the benefit of a designated charity. The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is: “Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.” The donation will help to support such life-saving efforts as research, education, advocating for better health, improving patient care and reaching populations at risk. Hudson River Community Credit Union’s mission is to improve the well-being of members and their families by providing quality financial services with the best overall value. CLIFTON PARK – Christ Community Reformed Church (CCRC), 1010 Route 146, Clifton Park, is hosting a 5K Run/ Walk, BBQ and Kids’ 1K Fun Run on Saturday, May 7 with net proceeds to benefit CAPTAIN Youth and Family Services. This event is open to the public and is held solely to promote wellness and healthy lifestyles. This is a USA Track and Field sanctioned 5K run/walk as well as a kids’ fun run (ages under 12).
