Bulletin Board Mid-Winter Summer Blowout! NISKAYUNA – Are you looking for a break from the frigid cold? On February 10 from noon until 3pm, the Schenectady JCC will be hosting a “Mid-Winter Summer Blowout”. The event will be held at their indoor facility at 2565 Balltown Road, Niskayuna. This is a free event featuring a multitude of summer-themed activities for people of all ages. There will be fun activities for all ages. Families can enjoy an open swim in the indoor pool, a bouncy-bounce, snow cones, sand art and interactive video games (Nintendo Wii, X-Box Kinect). Adults of all ages can participate in free trial exercise classes in our group exercise room and enjoy the fitness center, which will be open as well. In addition, guests can enjoy nutrition workshops or relax in our game room (checkers, backgammon, etc.). There will be a winter barbeque, dancing and games with a guest DJ. From 1-3pm there will be an open house showcasing various SJCC offerings. Come join us – everyone is welcome! (P)

Brooks BBQ Fundraiser COHOES – Cohoes Boy Scout Troop 670 will hold a Brooks BBQ Fundraiser on Sunday, January 27, from 3-6pm at the Holy Trinity Parish Center. Pre-sale admission tickets are available at $10 per chicken dinner and $11.50 per pork sparerib dinner. Senior discount tickets are also available at $9 per chicken dinner and $10.50 per pork sparerib dinner. Each dinner will include a ½ chicken OR pork spareribs, coleslaw, baked potato, roll, and beverage. Dodgeball Tournament for Middle Schoolers NISKAYUNA – The Schenectady JCC located on 2565 Balltown Road, Niskayuna, will hold a dodgeball event open to middle schoolers on February 3 from noon-3pm. Teamwork and strategy are more valuable factors in dodgeball than athletic skill and individual competitiveness. Anyone can play! Dodgeball promotes maximum social enjoyment where experience is countered by enthusiasm. This event is for members of the community currently attending 6th-8th grades.
