Dear Cruthú Members, Best wishes to everyone for the New Year and I am sure with all the events coming up its going to give all members a chance to create some new masterpieces. And don’t forget the ‘Where’s Woolly’ 2014 group project!!!.We need everyone to get involved or we will not be able to run certain events - your fellow members need your support, so please check the up coming events and try to participate. Finally a big Cruthú welcome to our new members—Mary Martin from Celbridge, and Mary Rossiter from Leixlip. Looking forward to seeing you all soon Best wishes Eamonn Heffernan. Chairperson

Premises Membership 2014: Cruthú membership has increased over the last 2 years. We now stand at 35 members. Last year 23 members took premises membership and we expect that number to increase this year. If you wish to secure a place for 2014 it is very important that you confirm your application by email/text by 9th March to or Or text Ger Brady Membership Secretary with your confirmation and name to 087 9739180. As in previous years the fee is €120. We hope to accommodate as many members as possible without compromising the value and space offered to members over the last 4 years. If there are more members applying than can be accommodated, the following will apply:

Application from last years premises members who wish to renew for 2014 must be confirmed on or before Sunday 9th March. This is the cut off date to renew your place. If we do not receive confirmation from you your place will be offered to members on a waiting list.

New premises members will be accommodated depending on date of expression of interest in joining, how long they have been general members, and type of Art / Craft they wish to display. It is necessary to maintain a balance of Art v Craft and variety of products. As an increasing number of members have been submitting both craft and art, it will be necessary for planning this year and for fairness in display space to declare which will be your chosen display—Art or Craft. If you are a wall artist wishing to display craft also—this will depend on space once Craft members have been adequately accommodated. All this will be explained in detail at an open members meeting on Saturday 22nd March at 12noon. Payment of €120 must be made on or before this date. If you are unable to attend the meeting please forward the attached application form along with cheque payable to Cruthú to Geraldine Brady, St. Ita’s, Rathcoole, Co. Dublin. Thank You

Outings and Events.

Art Project 2014 :

Where’s Woolly?’

The theme is ‘Sheep’ – familiar to us all in West Wicklow. The subject can be translated into the art or craft medium of your choice. This will offer improved scope to the more craft-orientated members who may not have contributed to the previous projects. All contributions will be displayed at our reopening in April 2014 and may make a suitable exhibition showpiece at other locations in 2014. Wall pieces may be in any form/medium to a maximum of 50cmX50cm. Craft pieces should be suitably sized for display on one of the shelves

You will see in the Dates for your Diary at the top of the page some listed outings and workshops. These are all subject to confirmation and more information will be available at the members meeting in Russborough on Saturday 22nd March at 12 noon. See you there Best Wishes From The Cruthú Committee
